Agree about the ease of changing the cabin air filter - - - - makes you wonder how the dealership can soak you the better part of a C-note with a strait face.

A dirty filter will develop an odor and restrict air flow..... not EVERYONE likes to drive with the windows open when its 95 degrees and 60% rH outside!

I replace mine once per year. There is a lot of crap in the air around here, soot, dirt, bugs and mold spores. The filter is usually nasty when removed, well worth 8 euro per year.

I changed my filter at 14,000 miles, and as I discovered, that was way too long to wait because it was filthy, much worse than the picture in this thread. So now I will change it at least once a year. As I suspected, the engine air filter was very dirty as well, so I have since changed that as well.

Originally I could not find a single car parts store that stocked an aftermarket part, so I ordered 2 Fram Fresh Breeze filters from Amazon (Free shipping with $25 order). The Fram part # for a 2008 Honda Accord EX V6 is CF10134 ($14.45). I see that the price, as of today, has increased to $18.94. Of course everything is more expensive today......If they could have figured a way to shrink the filter and keep the price the same, I am sure they would have !

Since then, I have seen various Fram Fresh Breeze filters on the shelf at Walmart. And yes, it is extremely easy to change the filter.

I changed my Ody at 15K miles. No difference and hardly dirty. I just changed my Accord filter at 34K. No difference and hardly dirty. I think I'll go 50K miles next time.

I just did mine today. $30 for both the cabin filter and engine filter at Autozone. Less than 10 minutes work to get them both changed. At 22k, mine were fairly dirty. I will definitely do this once a year, probably at the start of summer from now on.

How did you remove intake air filter ? Did you remove
3 clips , maf connector, and air intake hose ?
