And so now you just come back to troll around? I guess it's tout time and you can waste it any way you see fit.

Looking forward to seeing this car on the lot. My '04 EX 5MT has been the most reliable car I've ever owned, (knock on wood) so naturally Honda is still in the radar. Although rumors and renderings are not looking good, I'll reserve judgement until we see something official (or better yet, when I view one on the showroom floor)

How long until these are to hit dealer lots?

I'd expect to see them by end of September at the latest. Can't wait too long if they are to be released as 2013's.

I will make time to go to my dealer and test drive a 6/6 coupe, but no way I'm trading. I just want to see the improvements first hand.

We have several members here that used to own Honda's and now own something else.
Are they TROLL'S, too?

We should be taking all opinions, if you like them or not.

Mot of the times I do. But I do agree that I threw around the T word a bit too quickly here.
And for that I apologize @honeygee2.
There are a lot of negative posts that I actually 'enjoy' since they are well documented, and are not negative just for the sake of being negative (there are a lot of those too.).
I think on this one I had a knee jerk reaction because I perceive the tone of his post way to aggressive for someone inquiring why he was such a basher in an anthousiast forum (and before it gets pointed out, once more, DA can be an enthousiast forum and still vent all of our grievances towards the Accord and Honda, just as long as there's some kind of explanation to them, IMHO).

Honda has always been about reliability but competitors have been closing that gap. Being built well is important but that alone will not cut it in this market anymore. With the 7th gen you had to freakin upgrade to an EX to get rear disk brakes. Excitement and those nice little extras on the base models have never been Honda's strong suit, but I have always attributed it to their focus on quality versus "fluff". If they ever lose that rep for impeccable quality the show is over because to me, that's all Honda brings to the table.

I went from Civic to Accord which was a nice upgrade but frankly I want something more fun on the next purchase. I thought about buying a sports car but continuing to slog to work racking up mileage on the Accord, just treating it as a commuter mule.

honeygee2 was an active member here for quite a while. He had a problem with his car that many of the "fanboys" bashed him continually for. In the end, HONDA bought the car back from him and acknowledged that there was a problem on their end that they could not resolve.

Is he still bitter, probably, but he also spent his own time and money proving that his car was a dud. Honda agreed that it was, which is why they bought the car back.

Dreamacre, your opinion is -- how shall I say this? -- a unique and certainly novel perception of honeygee2, his issues and what he "contributed" (sic) to DriveAccord.

In any case, none of this is relevant to the topic at hand -- namely, whether the design released today is dull or not. I'm going to go with "staid."

Just popped over here from vtec.net to see what used to be a more postive bunch had to say about the new offering. And perhaps sadly, probably even less positive than they are. Accord sales have done well this year in the States, but increasingly it is a one country car. sales have almost totally evaporated in Canada. Seems to have any sales impact you have to either be more flash (optima/sonata), appeal to octogenarians (Camry), or do fleet sales (above 3 plus Altima). I just don't see this redesign succeeding in my market. All the interior goodies look promising but the existing clientele cares nothing for that and would rather not have it.

The US Accord still doesnt have low washer fluid level warning? You have got to be kidding me? This is a major safety issue in some areas. For chrissake stuff all the collision warning and lane departure crap and at least make sure this is standard. Been standard on all Hondas in Canada since forever. This should be law. (and don't start ,e on why US Hondas have 2.5 litre washer tanks and Canadian 4 litre....not that that matters....it's just weird).

I am not sayin ya are being too concerned about washers... just us peeps in the states, well most peeps that don't live in Alaska, Maine or Buffalo NY; don't get long winters so to speak.

So, washers aren't as used. Now and then bug country states in the south may beg to want the 4 liter tank.

I have owned many various cars in my life time. Some had options that were cool for the time, and others were sparse for options.

Not one car was any more dangerous to drive when properly driven.

When I got my first import (280zx) it had a washer level indicator along with a burned out bulb warning.

I think the burned out bulb warning system should have been in all cars as standard. Yet only a few cars since then have it and many don't, even as an option.

What you are accustom to as for being a plus to have in your driving experience, really does not matter for safety. What matters is a responsible driver.

What ever happened to checking your automobile's, tires air pressures, fluid levels, belts and tread during a fill up? That is being responsible for your own safety and the cars well being.

Modernization is making us so lazy that even responsibility only comes when being checked for insurance. Options take away responsibilities, you get too accustom to letting things go and be automatic. It make us all careless.

Japan is cool, you need to have your vehicle inspected bi-yearly. At least it is an attempt to make sure peeps keep up with maintenance. Making them more responsible drivers.

Couldnt agree more - there is far too much nannying - especially that frontal collision warning systems - can't people even be trusted to look where they are going. And as for those near useless TPMS things that are constantly giving erroneous readings in cold climates. Just taking away the responsibility of checking tire pressures properly. Real cry wolf potential there. Thankfully not (yet) law on cars in Canada.

My shock about washer fluid warning, or lack of, simply comes from personal experience. I was once driving in the mountains in very slushy conditions where almost constant fluid washing was needed. Very hard to gauge when it is going to just run out. And all of a sudden it did, just as i got covered in road muck. I had to stop the car almost completely blind. Sure an error of judgement on my part but one that is so simply resolved by a warning light. which is surely far more important than all this other crap that keeps being added. Like blind spot warning - for heavens sake - learn how to adjust mirrors properly and do a shoulder check. It's just a driving fundamental.

And it is weird that Honda specs two different washer bottle sizes for cars built on the same production line. Guess there must be some manufacturing process/cost benefit somewhere.

Unhappy 2013 Accord

What a huge let down. After the current model run, surely Honda could have styled a car that doesn't look like the current offering. The coupe appears to be the same from the side. Will a new grill and some nifty tech really sell to their base???? I am very disappointed. I have owned Hondas since 1978 and they are loosing me as a customer. I hope Honda people read these forums.
