You are suppose to get that before they leave the scene. Do you have a phone number? If so call her up.

your insurance company should have a procedure for this. have you reported it to them yet?

if the police report doesn't contain her information, your insurance company will have to find out for you. her address, car make/model, license plate number, etc is all on the report, so they shouldn't have a problem getting it from her.

in my state (WI), if the other party doesn't provide an official statement to their insurance within 30 days, the insurance company goes off of your statement and the police report to make a decision on coverage.

Uhh.. it's not clear, but if the chick immediately left after the accident, and you didn't get her info to give to the cops like license plate #, you're SOL.

New bumper plus respray is major. I got tapped by a Hummer H3 at 2mph and she punched a small hole in my bumper. New tail light + trunk reflector + trunk lid dent = $2,100. I too was shocked at the costs.

I always call the cops for a report.

I'm confused. Did you call the police to the scene of the accident so they could fill out a police report ? always a good idea.

Also exchanging information at the scene, name, phone number, license number, insurance, etc etc. is always a good idea.

If not contact you're insurance company and find out how much it's gonna cost you, depending on the damage you may want to come out of pocket if near you're deductable so as not to file a claim that would increase you're insurance. Good luck.

As long as you either have:

1. Her Name and Number OR
2. License Plate Number

the insurance will do the rest for you. As a rule, no matter how small or big you think the accident is, call the cops and ask them if an officer is close to the location. That helps you in getting your claims from your insurance company much much faster.

And any kinda damage encountered outside of a parking lot will cost you 1k minimum. So always be sure to get the details (Name, Number, Insurance Company, Policy Number and License Plate)
