Detailed: 09 Honda Accord Sedan

A couple of days ago I detailed my car. It is typically polished once a year, so the paint condition wasn't that bad to begin with. I spent about 18 hours total, but I haven't cleaned the interior/engine bay just yet. Leaving that for another day. I was experimenting with M205 and the Microfiber Polishing Pads and I think it was an awesome combo even though it isn't usually recommended. Car currently has 80,000 miles on it and about 3.5 years old. Pictures are below and a description of the process, let me know what you think!

Wash (for initial and after polishing wash)
2 bucket method
Dawn
Grout Sponge (Lowe's)
Big Blue Drying Towel
Bug scrubber (only used on initial wash)

Wheels & Tires
Dawn
P21S Wheel Gel (only on initial wash)
Wheel barrel brush
Diluted Purple Power for tires (only initial wash)
303 Protectant

Exterior plastic
Diluted Purple Power
Paint brush
Black Wow

Below is for door plastic pillars:
3.5" Lake Country Orange Flat Pad
Meguiars M105
3.5" Lake Country White Flat Pad
Meguiars M205

Clay
Meguiars OTC clay
Meguiars Gold Class soap and water for clay lubricant

Polishing
Porter Cable 7424
5 in. backing plate
5.5" Meguiars Microfiber finishing discs
Meguiars M205
Various Microfiber towels

Headlight and taillight
Porter Cable 7424
3 in. backing plate
3.5" Lake Country Orange Flat Pad
Meguiars M105
3.5" Lake Country White Flat Pad
Meguiars M205

Chrome
Meguiars M205
Microfiber Applicator Pad

Paint Protection
BFWD
Various Microfiber Towels

Before wash, still pretty clean

After clay, this was a close up of the finish. Just very fine swirls

Wheel barrels clean

All taped up for polishing

After polishing hood with halogen

After polishing fender and door

Finished polishing but before the next bath

After 2nd bath but no sealant

Polished headlight

All sealed up!

My best attempt of showing final paint condition in the sun

Look at the metallic

Thanks for looking! Any questions, just let me know!

The last two pix show a winner, well done!

This is the reason I have a silver car, I've yet to do any polishing on the Accord even though I got the Griot polisher, pads, and compounds last year for my summer hobby car, but the Accord still looks very good after a wash, clay, and Collite 845, and very difficult to see the swirls.

I guess one of these days I will get to polishing the Accord.

It looks great, well done. I am curious as to why it took 18 hours though especially just for the exterior?

That is great!! I also have a PMM sedan and always wanted to detail the whole car, but never had the time. After seeing this, I am jealous! Maybe I'll get around to doing it next weekend. When you clean your interior and engine bay, post up some pics and what you used. Once again, great job!

Looks good!

I don't mean to go off subject, but those acura rims look real good on your sedan, I was thinking about getting a set for my Honda once my tires go bald...

It took about an hour or so.

Thanks! It took that long mainly because of the heat outside. I started off moving quickly but then I lose steam in the end and I didn't want to overdo it so there were a few short breaks in between.

Thank you! I bought them brand new in a box from someone in Tampa, FL. I think he still has several more.
