OK I have been a little adventurous since joining here. i put stay connectors on the left front speaker and got sound from them. From the info i got from this forum i found that the right speaker was connected to the tweeter terminal instead of the woofer. I simpy switched postioning and got sound. i also cleaned up the wire mess in the trunk. i was beginning to feel proud of myself until the left front speaker went out followed closely by the right. Frustrated again i thought i would look at again at the connections from HU to LOC. i checked this forum and found instructions on how to connect HU to LOC but not from factory amp to LOC. So I guess I am asking for help again. Here is what I can see. There are two wiring harnesses coming from factory amp. Both LOC's are connected to the right wiring harness. 1 LOC is connected to the orange and blue wires. The other LOC is connected to the brown and yellow wires. The white, pink, green, and purple wires all have been cut and are not being used (maybe one of these is my bluetooth that I lost?). Is this the proper wiring? My guess is that they did something wrong but i wouldn't know. i have attached a pic but its hard to see (thanks for the photo help Paul). Is the other wiring harness for the sub? Sorry for all the questions but i am getting excited since starting this. Again i appreciate all of the help you guys have given me.

Metra sells their 70-1730 which is a plug-in harness that gives you turn-on and RCA's for connecting amplifiers. That makes the job easier and eliminates cutting factory wires.

are the factory speaker wires cut or tapped?

you got them working then they quit working. are there protection lights on at the amp?

will someone with the Haynes manual provide the wire colors before and after the factory amp?

Thanks for the info on the harness. I have that ordered. I got the speakers working but only intermittently. The protection lights did not come on at the amp. The speaker wires are tapped using 3M T-taps. I found a lot of info on this thread about the wiring of the amp:

http://www.driveaccord.net/forums/sh...ad.php?t=19987

Looks like the 2 wiring harnesses in the amp are input and output. My installer tapped into the harness going out of the factory amp. When I receive the harness I will tap into it before the factory amp. Also i just found out that the amp i am using has balanced differential inputs so the LOC's are not necessary. Still don't know why speakers go in and out. i will update you when i get radio harness. Thanks again!

Been a while and I wanted to update all who have been so helpful. Long story short I could not find root cause of my problems so I did some thorough research and found an install shop I was comfortable with. They looked at everything and foun out that the components were wired thru the factory crossovers. They corrected this and also put a different LOC (Audiocontrol li6).
Funny thing is that they couldnt resolve the anc issue w/o messing with handsfree. I referred them to this site and they had it done in 10 mins. Long road but music sounds good. Thanks to all of you for your help!

Lesson learned, you buy cheap and you get cheap. If anyone wired my car like that I'd refuse payment. Your lucky they didn't blow anything out.

Sorry about pic quality, not very good with camera. Again thank you for your help!
That is one really crappy install. I agree with others get it all redone from a real car audio shop.

But still aren't they getting paid for doing the install? I would report them to business bureau.

I dont see why theyd get pissed for buying stuff online. They dont have much of a margin on the gear they sell and make most of their money from labor for installation. At $60 an hour or more, Id think theyd be just fine. Just another example of how lousy a shop they were.

LOL! That's not that bad. Car audio nuts like me can spend a ton on our installs. There is one guy I compete with that has $5000 just in his head unit/processor. Got another buddy that has $6000 just in amps!

Every hobby is stupid to people that aren't into it. Some people spend a couple grand on golf clubs. I don't get it but then they think I'm weird for spending money on a car radio.

[QUOTE=MacLeod;972398]Are you kidding me? Any shop that would do an install like that, and just leave wires dangling like that, is no shop you ever want to go to again. sounds very much like a crap install job and needs to be re-done from scratch cause there is no telling how many other shortcuts they took.

take it all back out and get it back to stock and working, than bench test all equiptment to see what is and not working, and than install the correct way -no T-taps and use solder
