Dyno - Full bolt on 6spd
guys, I don't post much here but I'm on a few other forums (V6P/AZine/6G Accord/J32a/K20a to name a few lol). I have a modded 2006 Accord 6-6. I've had the car since '08, so it's been about 4 years. Below is a before/after dyno graph of some mods I did. Previous mods were:CAI/Custom Jpipe & collector/PCDs/3in catback/Ported IM with butterfly delete/UR Pulley Since then I've added: 3.7 TL intake manifold gasket matched 3.7 TL throttle body maxbored (81mm/72mm) Polished runners Here is the graph below comparing before/after. Basically an intake manifold/TB upgrade. Loving the gains ![]() ![]() ![]() Here is a speedo run I did as well (25~100). It's in mid 80s heat, but still pulls hard. ![]()

Wow awesome.. the car pulls so hard even after 80 mph.
This is something I would love to do to my car. I wonder if the auto tranny could handle it

^nope auto tranny can only handle up to 250whp and even on 100% stock motor, they still go bad.
The OP is making 270whp as you can see.. Sonnick Are you running a 4" cai? I bet after TL-S cams and a tune you should definitely push around ~290-300 maybe!?

Thanks guys. I'm really happy about the numbers, but I was more concerned about gains to be honest. I would like to dyno again on a Mustang to see the difference. I'd expect 245/205 or so from a Mustang. I'd rock those numbers instead. Sleeper ftw
![]() Yea the 5ATs do tend to 'go' even on a stock motor. However, there are a few people on Acurazine who have switched the 3rd and 4th gear pressure switches and the trans lasts much longer. Try searching on AZine, a few people have done it. I still have the AEM V1 CAI which is 3" (76mm) OD. It's probably 71mm or so inside. The TB has been bored to 81mm on the intake side, so I'm going to be upgrading to a 3.5" CAI. That should be ~81mm or so inside, so it should match great. I'm probably not gonna dyno again after to be honest unless they include it in the cost, but I'd guess 275/230 after. I have no plans for TL-s cams thus far. I just ordered new mounts because mine are toast. I also need to do the timing belt/spark plugs and get new front rotors. I'm doing the motor mounts/timing belt/spark plugs before I head back to the track this fall. To be honest, I probably won't have the intake done by that time, but will try.

Any reason why you're not going with a 4" like Jiga and Cubano did? I still think you should get 62a mounts at least. The vibration isn't bad at all. I've had gone through two girlfriends that rode in my car and neither complained about the vibration. Just a thought, I've watched all your 1/4 videos and you definitely don't play around!

Lol @ the girlfriends. My girlfriend HATES riding in my car. My exhaust coupled with broken mounts....omg it's the worst. Even I've been hating it recently. I don't think she would approve of the mounts since she hates everything about my car.
I want to sell/trade my exhaust for a stock one and do a cutout. Love the fact that I could cruise quietly and BWAHHHHHH when I need it. In regards to the 4" CAI, I'm not gonna relocate my battery which I believe is a must with a 4" CAI. I think the 3.5 would work great considering it would match almost perfectly to the throttle body. But on the other hand, I've seen the K20 gain great power from both 3.5" and 4" intakes, so being a 3.0L V6, I could see the 4" showing bigger gains. Idk yet, we'll see. But I'd rather run a 3.5" CAI and keep my battery up front than relocate it for another 3whp.

^ The 5AT is a weak trans for both the 7th & 8th Gens. The 6 speed will hold much, much more.

IMO, the clutch will go LONG before the Tranny will.

Relocating the battery will help the weight distribution a little too ![]() Someone told me about the dual throttle bodies that Paul is fabbing up. You should look into those. Once I get the 3.7 Manifold + Bored TB and 4" Cai I will post dyno numbers up. I wanna see how much power my car puts down vs yours and Jiga.. ![]() Do you have any plans after that? J36? SC?

100% correct.

My only engine plans right now are to get a larger intake and to tune for an increased rev limiter. Oh, and an E-cutout with stock exhaust. I'm considering doing cams in the (couple years) future, but as of now not much more. I'll be happy with a 290whp daily Accord I was surprising people before the 3.7 IM/TB setup. After a tune on the new setup I'm sure I'd be surprising modded 370s. As will you with your setup.I do want TSX mirrors/coils/front lip/wheels though. We'll see how that goes.
