Don't waste your time buying the shroud.. It wont work unless you have oem nav.. You need to make your own.

The only downside is that I don't see backup camera being a option.

According to reviews, this is a wifi only device. So you will need some type of hot spot device to use the navigation. I have the same issue with my Android hacked HP tablet.

Well, if you're using an android phone with the right data plan this shouldnt be a problem.

I am thinking the cubby area actually might be a better mount point, you don't have the remove the stock display, less cutting/fabrication and it's easier to reach the touch screen.

Seems kind of low though especially if you are planning to utilizing the nexus 7 for navigation.

I was thinking of maybe just sticking this dock onto the flat surface in front of the OEM display and have it lean onto the upper lip of the display shroud. Not too much installation and might actually end up looking pretty decent. I'm just not sure how secure this will be.

Picked up the Nexus 7

Just picked up the Nexus 7 and this is how sizing looks without a dock yet. Again, sizing looks pretty good so just need to secure it so it doesn't bounce off the dock while in motion.
