I don't know if these TSB's are country specific, but the Accord vehicles covered by TSB 10-033 are 2008 - 2010 Accord V6 with automatic transmission and all 2010 Accord Crosstours. At 87,000 KM you are obviously out of warranty, but worst case at least you could get the fix.

Well that's interesting, the TSB says 16ft/lbs for the spark plugs, while the Honda V6 Supplement service manual says 13 ft/lbs. The coil is 8.7 ft/lbs.

looks like I might be on my own and change the remaining 5 plugs anyone know the torque specs for the plug and coil the service manual sticky only shows I4 the TSB says 16lbs for the plug is that right and what about the coil?? I prefer to torque no just hand tight an a bit
The coils are only held in by small nut, spec 8.7Ft/LB and spark plugs for V6 are 13 ft/lb's .
Also these are same specs for 2.4L .

PS: got specs from Chilton online manuals , if Honda says differently, use Honda values but 1 or 2 ft/lbs won't change anything .
Edit: I don't have V6 honda manual but there is one for 2.4L and it says 8.7ft/lb for coils and 13 ft/lbs for spark plugs so use those values .

make sure there no firmware updates available as the 10-033 is suppose to help here . Even in Canada I would ask about it .

I think what they are missing is those VCM pistons are still going up and down, and even though there is no fuel (or spark I don't know) there is still oil present to lubricate the rings. My theory is the oil builds up a bit but doesn't always have the combustion to keep it burned off. Probably worse on some engines than others depending on the tightness of the rings.

I think the TSB reprograming of the ECU in the newer models starting using either 3 cylinders from one bank or the 2 outside cylinders from both banks (4 cyl) to help distribute the "off" cylinders around and help lessen the carbon buildup to any one cylinder.

I need to look into a carbon cleaner. I saw a mechanic clean my brother's old 1997 Accord one time, I think it was in 2004, and wow. It looked like it was caked with the crust off a burned steak. It was thick and constricting.

My stepdaughter's 96 TL probably needs this too. From my reading, they tended to gunk up around 150000 miles or so. She has around 170k on her car, and she's getting a P0401.

I've bought some seafoam already... I'll probably do it this weekend coming up.
