any tint at all and you get rear ended, will be your fault and you can be sued, so the answer is none...

but if you're young, none of this will make any sense and you'll tint the crap outta them...

I'll add to that by saying I'm relatively young (27) and I think tinting your tail lights are silly... It just doesn't look tasteful to me.

not a good idea to ask anyone on here about tinting, they will just be on your case about it. a lot of people on here are against tinting taillights.. so my opinion is to just ignore everyone and to do what you want, its your car! good luck

He's right. It's ultimately your car and your decision. A local tinting shop should have some good advice and ideas on the best way to tint your tail lights. I'd go to them.

you're right it's your car but we're not "down on tiniting" - it gets you in BIG trouble - why would anyone think we are just giving stupid opinions here? when IT'S THE LAW?

you kids crack me up...have at it....

I got my windows 5% in back and 50% in front so I think 50% is nice but have the shop put a sample piece on your lights they always have scrap pieces and see how it looks

Reducing the effectiveness of safety devices (lighting) is something only an idiot would do.

The tail light tint debate.
You're question is how dark not should you get you're tail lights blacked out?
If you are dead set on this mod then i would suggest the lightest possible tint so the person behind you can see you clearly stopping. Definitely go for the tint paper and stay away from the tail light spray tint to reverse this should you not be happy.

Some mods become really popular, and some do not last long at all.
Keep you're options open, if you must try it, if not happy you can always take them off. Good luck.

Resorting to name calling is not very nice.
Calling someone an idiot is not very nice.
Perhaps " I would strongly suggest against that" would be more beneficial. Thank you very much, and do have a nice day.
