biggest disappointment of life
So I got the call from my local Audi dealership saying my Allroad was in.. I was ecstatic.. went to the bank, withdrew the money and headed to the dealer to pick up my new 13' Allroad.. got to the dealer and saw a brand spanking new Allroad.. it came with everything except the one thing I specifically wanted more than anything.. full paint.. the one that arrived had the black body panels.. after thinking long and hard whether or not I should just accept it and drive it home I said no. I don't want to drive something I resent and I refused the delivery.. the dealer has no idea when another full silver will be in..
VERY DISAPPOINTED

Couldn't the dealer have just painted the parts for you out of their mistake?

Looks kinds of bland with the all silver paint imo. I like the contrast of the darker color. That way it doesn't blend in with the other merc and bmw wagons. Looks more distinquished esp the front end. Not to mention saves $1k which I know isn't much compared to the price. Lets see if the link works:
http://models.audiusa.com/allroad Click "build your own" and you will see the "full paint option". Hmmm, actually the white one reminds me of a Pontiac Vibe with the darker trim.

I'd have done the same thing if it mattered to me. There are very few times when you should be very specific about buying a new car and that is when you're going to be burned for the money on a brand new model. That's when you should get exactly what you want.
The dealership must be able to move them without any trouble to have just let you walk away. That might mean it'll be tough to get what you're after from that particular dealership though. You might want to look for a high volume dealership somewhere within driving distance and call them to set up a deal, they may be more accommodating in getting something very specific. |

Ditto on doing the same exact thing. If that car wasn't 100% perfect then it isn't worth it.

Hmm. Oh well. i always thought those plastic panels were better. Because dirt likes to stick there and if it was painted it would take a beating
