Ceramic VS. Metallic Tint
So I'm ready for some tints on my accord......I've got two options, Ceramic and Metallic. The guy that is installing them for me has 20 years of experience, and I've had 10+ people recommend him to me. He uses llumar. I've heard very good things about them. I can't decide if I want metallic or ceramic though. Metallic is $200 including windshield, and ceramic is $300 including Windshield. Both have lifetime warranty. IDK if it's worth it though. People have said that metallic reduces cell phone signal and crap too. Also I do like how the ceramic have a 65% heat rejection while the metallics only have 40%. Is it worth the exra $100? I know i'm getting an excellent deal on them already. What do you guys think?

how long do you plan to keep the car, are you in a hot area? metallics do mess with signals so I have heard as well nothing proved to me yet. If you live in a hot area go with the heat rejection. If its both hot/cold metallic is fine. Llumar is very high quality tint and your getting a good deal on it. Here in PA its 300 for sun tek carbon not including windshield... ceramic they don't even offer it here. I would say get ceramic if you plan to be keeping the car for at least 4 or 5 years.

North East PA, around here basic sun tek carbon tint is 300$ for all but windshield on our cars. I ask for ceramic they would have to special order it so it would be around $500. Apparently no body likes it around here. Needless to say I went somewhere else and got rear windows done with sun tek carbon for $140 still pricey seeing your guys cost.

Carbon is definitely worth the extra money. I wouldn't go with metalic if I had the choice. If the tint was anywhere less that 150 I'd say it wasn't the real stuff and expect to replace it within a year or two.

Ceramic tint avoids blocking RF signals, GPS, Cell, radar, etc. that metallic film can, even only partially. Caron film may discolor over time, but getting a lifetime warranty can save you if you keep the car long enough.
