all of them were bad. they should not have that white film on the lower portion of the pics. nor the brown on the white part of the spark plug. and the arm should not be twisted. these definitely needed replacements.

the manual is mostly for suggestions, that does not mean that it is the only way to be done. if something needs to be replaced or fixed before the suggested amount of time or miles, then it needs to be replaced or fixed. it's just a suggestion for the mileage.

I don't see much at all wrong with those plugs. The plugs look more white because of the flash on the camera IMO. They are more tan than they look in the picture, which is normal color. The blow-by on the ceramic part is normal. I also don't see anything twisted. I think these plugs would easily go another 50k miles. The only things I see wrong with these plugs, is the oil deposit on the third plug, which is an indication of the engine's condition, more than the plug's operation.

The spark plugs are white with black burn spots, not tan.

Just torque them down and recheck them at your next oil change.

Torque specs for the plugs is a whopping 13 lb/ft. Hopefully you didn't damage anything.

You don't see that twisted arm? oh ok. Because it is there.

If the arm is twisted, it was either twisted on installation or the piston hit it. Let's hope it was done on install. Either way, I don't think spark plugs are the problem here.

I'm planning on selling the car none the less... upgrade to an Audi or BMW.

My last car was a VW and it didn't have half the problems this car does and this one is 4 years newer with a bigger engine.

My car still vibrates as well.

In the VW when the AC pump kicks in if it is quiet you can hear a faint click sound and that is it. No vibrations.

We've got a 2009 VW CC 2.0 Turbo in the household. Everyone with this car had this issue with the car dying on them. Intake manifold goes bad after a few years.

This VW needs ATF changed at 40k miles, spark plugs at 60k, etc. Not as easy at Hondas.

I agree, Honda is a great car with minimal maintenance needed, but the design, performance, handling, and comfort don't appeal to me very much. With the Honda I can do things here and there for added styling and performance but I couldent bare to bring my self to do something as crazy as a turbo or SC unless it was into a BMW/Audi.
I'm not looking into brand new models, not a fan of them... If I was to get a BMW it would be a sedan E46 or E90, if an Audi then an AWD A4 or S4, older model... but definitely worth it in an area where it rains 80% of the time.
