Difference between two SRI intakes?
Hi there, I am about to order a Takeda SRI for my 2009 accord sedan (i4).
On amazon there are two different types and I can't seem to tell the difference. Does anyone know why one says "retain" and why the other does not. Here are the Links. retain: non-retain: Thanks for your help guys! |

Both look to be the same thing.
Takeda Attack: Takeda’s true Cold Air Intake kit. Places the air filter behind your front bumper to ingest the colder, denser air flow. Includes Takeda pre-filter. Takeda Retain: Takeda’s Short Ram kit. Easy to install bolt-on horsepower that requires no bumper removal. Some models include wrinkle black heat shield. Takeda Link: Takeda’s Conversion kit. Install as a Cold Air Intake, or remove the secondary tube and install as a Short Ram. Includes Takeda pre-filter. |

Yeah it just looks like the Retain intake can be used as either cold air or short ram, and the second one is strictly just a short ram.

I emailed them today actually for a list of things I wanted to buy. No one has responded to it yet. How long does shipping take usually (to VA) and how much is shipping? I plan on getting: 1. Throttle body spacer 2. Weapon R I-throttle 3. UR pully with underdrive 4. Thermal gaskets? (Havn't done much research on those yet) Thats it for this week though. |

Shipping should be free for SRI. Not sure about others. Maybe you two can work out a deal for the big purchase.
You may also want to try sending him a PM from here. http://www.driveaccord.net/forums/member.php?u=10147 Under "Send Message" drop down, select "Send a private message to Throwdown" |

namegoeshere, since some how you pulled those three out of nowhere i can't seem to find the answer to this, maybe you would know... the difference between the retain and the link is the extra pipping to make the link cold air which can be removed, but it has much lower rating for performance increase according to them. if you remove the extra piping would it have the same performance increase as the retain?

In the product description it says "Takeda Attack is Cold Air Intake, Takeda Retain is short ram and Takeda Link is short ram with additional piping for cold air intake."
