Converting odometer to metric

Hi,

I have 2006 Honda accord v6 sedan which I imported to canada from USA and one of the import requirements are metric odometer. Can anybody tell me how to do so and if anybody else had similar experience could you guide me.

Try to find Canadian dashboard cluster and swap it.

Is it possible for him to order a new Canadian cluster and have one of the dealerships officially set the mileage? I had to do that with my Audi A6 (only still USA spec) when my cluster was kaput. Being that the dealership was the one to set the mileage (which came as blank ------) there was no voids/hassles to worry about...

Might be a little pricey ordering a new OEM cluster but at least you know it'd be done the right way...

The speedometer is already dual-labeled so its not an issue. As far as the odometer goes, nobody cares.

If this is an official Transport Canada requirement then a big "moron" label should be attached to their bureaucratic foreheads. They went for the obvious (i.e. a stupid cluster) and they missed the safety issues, such as a larger windshield fluid container that comes with the Canadian Accords, for Canadian winters that you seriously need lots of that stuff to do any long highway driving safely.

It should've Km written on it but I think he still has to change it since
its a requirement by the Transport Canada now.

I think you will need to buy a used or new cluster from a Canadian sold car. You can find a used one at junkyards and parts recyclers if you want a cheaper price. Replace the old one(entire cluster), record the numbers on the ODO for record history.

I would double check to make sure you actually need to swap your gauges. Like TonyWare said, as long as it has KM's on it (even if its the smaller number) you should be OK.
