Coilovers question

hey guys , my factory warranty bumper to bumper finally expired last month so i have started modifying my car . Installed F81acrd and 19inch rims.
Now i m considering installing coilovers but cant decide which ones to go with, Tein Basic or Megan Ez street. they cost about the same and also i m thinking about installing it myself.

suggestions would be really appreciated.

Don't over think it, they both work well, the Megan will go a bit lower....

The general consensus is that Teins have a more comfortable ride but don't go as low as the EZ's. the basics offer no dampering adjustment while the EZ's do.

I have EZ's and love em.

I wouldn't be happy with C/O I couldn't adjust the dampening, so I say go for the Megans. Don't forget that depending on how low you go, you will need the adjustable rear suspension bars to fix the camber/ toe/caster.

i got the ez, they can go lower, and u can make the ride to your liking by the dampening. but remember u will need to get camber arms though if u do go lower then 1.5 inch i think it was before you need a camber kit.

i am considering lowering 1.5 inch or less in front and 1 inch in back. i dont want to drop it too low because i live in Houston and roads aren't very smooth here.

It's not a super hard install if you're mechanically inclined. It helps to have a buddy that's done something like this before, but not 100% needed. You'll just need to set a good 5 hours aside if you haven't done it before.

The rear is the hardest part, fronts easy enough.

Even with just a 1-2" drop I'd suggest getting the J-Power camber arms for $200.

Any drop more than an inch requires at least 1 camber bar

Lowering a car DOESN'T require the camber to be fixed. It is just a suggestion to help save your tires from excessive wear; which really isn't that excessive at all. I run -3 degrees of camber and I don't replace my tires any more frequently than when I wasn't lowered.

That's because camber doesn't cause "excessive" wear, an off toe setting does. Camber causes the wear to be uneven across the width of the tire.

Then explain why everyone says its required to correct the camber to save tires after lowering... it's said in almost every thread on this forum about lowered accords. Camber does make it wear uneven, but not that much; and definitely not enough to require changing tires more often. Especially when aligned correctly. I'm just trying to correct the misinformation on this forum. A simple flip of the tires on the rims puts the good tread where it needs to be.

True my last car i installed Tein SS and no camber kit with 20 inch rims never had any problem or irregular wear on tires.
