No not with Eco enabled. Next time I go on a business trip I will check out the Eco feature and see just how much gas I can save. It's a 6-Speed Automatic. I could be wrong about the tach revs, it could very well be around under 2500.

That looks really good. I was worried about Modern Steel being a re-badged version of Polished Metal, but it looks different and I like it a LOT more.
Makes me feel a lot better about the 6MT models only being available in limited colors. I'll take mine in Modern Steel.

It's much better color then alabaster silver metallic. I wasn't too keen on that color when I had my '12 EX-L V6 but it was the only trim they had left in the lot and my friend who works at the dealership was able to knock $4500 off the MSRP. The hematite color someone posted looks really slick. It would have been a tough decision if they had that color in the lot too when I got my '13. It's good to have a friend working at a dealership since you know they will take good care of you!

Check the revs on the tach when I was rolling 80 down the interstate going home just earlier. My revs are 2300RPMs going 80.

Sport mode
To those of you that have already have a '13 Accord
Anyone try the sport mode yet? I tried it Thursday when I was driving on the interstate and I must say, it gives the car quite the push and speed though you sacrifice the great fuel economy I believe. I went 80 in sport mode and the tach RPMs reaches 3300RPMs versus 2300RPMs on normal Drive though the car's power was noticeable. Thoughts?

Thats because it downshifts a gear, that's all.

Not so sure. It holds the gear longer and seems more responsive. Defintely more responsive then my 09.

can you take a picture of the LEDs illuminated only from a front view from different distances? Like maybe 10 ft, 30ft and 50 ft?
I want to see how effective/bright they are. |

Yea when I put my car in sport mode it drops it into 3rd gear, which puts the RPM's at right about 4000. Our cars get most of its torque and power from the 5k to 6k range....

I did 80 yesterday even though the speed limit is 55 (thank goodness for my Escort RedLine ) lol. Anyways I was doing 2400rpm on my tach with the eco light illuminated. I wonder how are gas economy is going at that speed, I can do 90mph under 3000rpms too....

Nice ride and color. The modern steel is great IMHO.
BEFORE WAXING: Make sure you clay it to remove all grime, grit, rail dust, etc. Did you ever wonder why your white wax applicator turns grey/black? It is all the grit that the applicator is picking up that "you" failed to remove when you washed and did not clay. That grit is grinding your paint. Notice some wax companies mask this by providing a dark grey applicator. Tons of online info on the benefits of clay. Without damaging the paint it is great for removing bug splats, sap, tar, overspray paint (removed fresh double yellow line road spray from my dad's white T&C), and of course grit and grime specks. I clayed my hood today where I stupidly parked my white '13 Ex-L under a berry producing tree and it stained the paint and all the washing in the world did not work- clay melted the stain right off (this is where I discovered the three stone chips detailed elswhere). Try this. After the next wash, take a piece of kitchen plastic wrap and lightly rub the paint with your hand and you will feel the grit fused to the paint just waiting to be lifted with the petroleum distilates in the wax, turn the pad black, and scratch your paint to smitherines over the coming years. |

@ Kings: Yeah I've yet to get into the clay bar and waxing. I used that Meguiars ultimate wash n wax. I just got into detailing my car but not to the point where I feel comfortable taking that final step of waxing in the process. i want to make sure i do it right and not screw up the paint on the car. I also had used the meguiars wash n wax anywhere spray and that really brings out the shine of the car though that comes at a 16 bucks a bottle price but worth it imo. i've read about the saran wrap trick too. I'm going to be washing my ride Tuesday since I try to detail my car every weekend and this past weekend I was out of town Friday and Saturday since I went to the MLB NL Wildcard game to see my beloved Braves lose because of the incompetent umpires and our horrible defensive fielding. Great time though I had especially when the garbage hit the fan.
. Couldn't wash the car Sunday seeing that I had to go on a business trip to chattanooga for a project on Monday which I actually was averaging around 31.5 MPG going around 80-82MPH. BTW that ****s you got paint chips on your beloved '13. When I gave mine a bath last weekend, I noticed I got one too when I drove over a small piece of lumber that was laying parallel to the road so it just skimmed the bumper a few days prior to my wash. ![]() @Jay757: I've never used the Eco feature yet though I did go 90 at one point on my way back home from Chattanooga and iirc my tach reading was under 3k too. I got the chance to speedpace with 2 other cars and we were going around 85-90 at times. UPDATE: Just looked at the stats and for my business trip, I drove a total of 339 miles with the average MPG at 30.9. That's given that my average speed overall was atleast 81-83mph. I seem to be enjoying this car WAAYYY TOO MUCH!
