Magnet tool

I'm going to get one of those magnet tools that, for example, if you drop a bolt, it will pick it up.

One of them advertise saying it can pick up 2lbs. I know a bolt is not 2lbs.

But from your experience (working around cars), is that good enough?

I like to buy once, one tool. And not come across a job that will make me buy another one later.

Recommendations or advice?

More than good enough, I had two, one with a flexible neck and the other collapses into a pen, but somehow I lost the collapsable one, I have used both and they can be life-savers!!

Now something else to think about ..... the stronger the magnet, the more it will want to attach itself to other steel parts as you are fishing out something.

Just saying ...... stronger is not alway better.
