2009 Accord Problems!

Bought this car new back in 2009, has a total of 39,300 miles on it. I was a big Honda guy, nothing but praise for the Accord, this is the 4th one I have owned. Problems I have had, brakes were replaced at 16,000 miles under lawsuit. Leather seats are wearing in a big way! I have always had the car in the garage, and I work from home, so the car has seen little sun. The leather seats are going to be trash by 100,000 mile I presume, at the rate they are deteriorating. The car does not shift smoothly as it did in years past, gear shifts are rough at certain times. Started to hear a rattle in the rear deck last month, the Honda Mechanic says he thinks it is a bad spot weld in the rear deck. Cost is going to be anywhere from $600 to $1200 the service manager told me. Unfortunately the car is not in the warranty any longer.

Seems to me we have lost the Accord quality from the previous generations. This car has been a nightmare! My next car is going to be a Hyundai because I would get a 100,000 mile warranty, and these things would be covered. I have lost all faith in Honda, and will never own one after this 2009 Acoord EX-L. This is my first and last post to this website, Good Night, and if you own one of these cars Good Luck!

You are absolutely right, this generation of accord is junk. Nothing but problems, and the car is cheap as hell. I have a 2008 and i still have a 2004. The 04 feels like rock solid. Honda have cut everywhere in the 2008, cheap doors, no isolation in trunk or hood, no engine cover, just look on the doors glass, they bent like peace of paper, + too much separation between the glass and the frame. Closing the doors feels like closing a Lada niva door... And talking about gas mileage also: that 4 cylinders consume gas more than my BMW with a 100 more horse power. I can continue forever... The 2004 does not have anything like this.... Solid like a rock.
