How to install an Injen Cold Air Intake(CAI) or Short Ram Intake(SRI) on a 2003-2007 Honda Accord I4. My DIY is for an Injen Brand Intake, but other Brands should be similar.

Takes about less than an hour to install, depending how well you know your car/know how to take things apart.

Tools:
Phillips and Flat screwdriver
10mm Socket
8mm Socket(Optional)
Socket Extension(Optional)
Socket Wrench
Pliers

Step 1: Removing Front Bumper
I followed these instructions to remove my bumper:
http://www.driveaccord.net/forums/showthread.php?t=20581
GOING UNDER
1. Remove the 6 plastic clips on the bottom(Using a Flat Screwdriver
2. Remove 2 bolts from each side also on the bottom [A] (Using a 10mm Socket)

….Forgot about those Non-Ricer friendly driveways after my drop :(

1. Remove both screws by the front fender well (Using a Phillips Screwdriver)

UPTOP
1. Remove 8 more plastic clips on the top (coming out to a total of 14 clips)
2. Remove the 2 side screw clips [A]

Step 2: REMOVING THE STOCK AIRBOX
1. Remove the 2 bolts where the filter is at(Using a 10mm Socket)

1.Remove the Vent Chamber…You should be able to just pull it out

1. Remove this sensor using a plier to squeeze the clamps

1. Remove the clamp holding the stock airbox tube using a Phillips Screwdriver

Step 3: INSTALLING NEW INJEN INTAKE (DON”T TIGHTEN ANYTHING TILL THE VERY END)
1. Install the new rubber tubing(Make sure you push it all the way in) Tighten it a little using a Flathead or 8mm Socket so that it does move to much.
2. Insert the Sensor

Screw on the 1st Vibra-Mount (One female end and one male end) to the top battery screw

The second Vibra-Mount (2 male ends) goes where the old Factory Resonator was…Near the Fenderwell

1. Install the 1st part of the CAI
2. Install the stock vacuum line [A]

1. Slide the bracket onto of the Vibra-Mount and screw on the nut(using a 10mm Socket)

You won't be needing this piece(the PVC Pipe and Short Coolant line)

Remove the short coolant tube and Install the long coolant line where the existing short coolant line was.

1. Install Breather Hose directly onto the Vent Chamber
2. Install the the Injen Sleeve and then Assemble the Vent Chamber

If you want a Short Ram Intake (SRI) install the filter now and put everything back to together :)….If not lets keep going…

Insert the other Injen Sleeve onto the end of the tubing

1. Going from the bottom insert the 2nd part of the CAI into the Sleeve
2. Slide the Bracket onto the Vibra-Mount and screw it on

Install your filter and you are done!

Great write up dude. This really helps if I ever decide to install one in the future. :) I know I'm a noob for asking, but whats the difference between a CAI and an SRI? Positives and negatives?

Don't ask me, I don't know much about the differences....I do know that CAI has more chances of HydroLocking the Engine, while SRI has more chances of heat stroking

Also, sound wise..I think CAI has that more raspy loud roar where as SRI has that low deep roar...not 100% sure about this

Nice job:thmsup:

:GNAWHDIVAD: If I remember right the bolts are 10's on the res. And a side note for you most all the bolts on Honda are; 10, 12, and 14.
