Just saw a link on my local pittsburgh website about E85 Ethanol.
It is selling for about 45 cents less than regualr gas.
I am going to Ohio this weekend and there is a station close by my brothers house that sells E85.

Was wondering if i should throw some in my Accord? :dunno:

Or will it damage my accord? :dunno:

I know some Fords are designed to run on both interchangably! Other than that, I don't know for sure if our cars can run ethanol.. My guess is it doesn't since the cars are already designed to be ULEV or better. The main purpose of running ethanol instead of petrol is to lower emissions.

Besides, I've never seen any gas stations the all of NE that sells ethanol... Diesel fuel is kind of a rarity, around here, too... only about 60% of the gas stations offer it. :)

The manual has info about oxygenated fuels. I think you can use up to 10% ethanol based fuels, and no fuels containing methanol (methanol is corrosive).

Well, after reading those articles..I have kind of got a better picture of what E85 is for? Not our accords... :thumbsdow

Only a limited number of cars can use it....but even then it decreases the MPG by about 10-15%....No way..... :thumbsdow

I am sure cars will someday get the same mpg on ethanol as regualr gas...but not in my lifetime...LOL :lmao:

15.5 years later...

So to elaborate on the flex fuel mixing it with a blend of E85% and 60% 91 octane
At that mix ratio it makes 93 octane from what ive been told. And to be honest it does last longer.
Peace out!
This is for a 2020 Honda Accord with Flex fuel kit installed.
