Regarding replacing my two back rear speakers in my 1999 honda accord coupe ex v6
I want to know how i would replace my two back rear speakers in my 1999 honda accord coupe ex v6? They appeared to be blown out and I want to what type of speakers i should replace them with and the size? Also, i have a aftermarket pioneer double din in-dash navigation in as my radio installed, so should i have pioneer rear speakers put in as well? Need help!! And the front two speakers and tweeter's are factory.

I speak from experience, you'll end up replacing your front speakers too after you hear how much better your rear ones are. Rear speakers are 6x9 size. They are very simple to replace. Go into your trunk and find two screws on each side that hold in the speaker covers/grilles. Then, inside the car, pull the covers off, and use a hex wrench to take out the four screws holding the speakers in. Unplug the harnesses and pull them out. You don't need pioneer speakers. I use kicker speakers with an alpine single din unit. Crutchfield.com is a great resource for researching audio products. I suggest buying a harness adapter so you can use the factory harness clips with your new speakers. No cutting or splicing necessary. You'll probably want to replace your front speakers too though after you hear the new rear ones. I blew my front speakers tryin to match the rear ones.
Good luck! |

I have Kicker KS69 in my rear deck. They are 6x9 speakers. I have Kicker component DS6.2 in my front. Those alpine speakers will be fine if you have a subwoofer, but if you don't I suggest buying a speaker with a frequency response that goes down to ~20 or ~30 Hz. Kickers are great for low frequency response, you hardly need a subwoofer with those,

That's what I switched my fronts out with as well. They sound really awesome paired with the back speakers. I ended up just surface mounting the tweeters in my sail panels because I'm lazy but everyone who rides in my car is surprised when I say I don't have a subwoofer.

Kicker makes a good speaker. Amazon is the best place to get them for good deals. If your front ones sound good and aren't blown, I'd say you could keep them, but if they're factory speakers in the front you'll end up blowing them out. Aftermarket speakers handle a lot more wattage than factory speakers, so the tendency will be to turn the volume up too loud for the front speakers. Part of it is that speakers with higher max outputs take more juice to produce the same volume. If you want really good bass without a subwoofer, I'd say go for the kickers. Their primary product is subwoofers so they know bass well.

I know you have to be careful with the size of the speaker bcuz of the metal rods in the trunk that it can run into but I found some nice pioneer premiere 6x9's that fit perfectly and don't run into those rods.
