Swapping 6 disc changer for Navi - is it possible

I'm new here and want to do a few things to my 03 Accord ex, one of which is if possible, change my current 6 disc for the navi set up.

Has any one done this or heard of this being done?

Thanks

Welcome to DA!

Plenty of people have tried to do a navi conversion. It's expensive not only for the parts, but for the time you'll have to put into this.

Not to mention you'll need new wiring harnesses...

Good luck!

If I do go through with this I was going to try to track down what I need from a wreck yard.

I may just start with changing my headlights and put tsx mirrors on to get my feet wet!

Thanks....

Its not as much of a headache as everyone thinks. It is time consuming and if you have patience it can be very gratifying. Once you know now how to read the Electric trouble shooting manual and pretty good with splicing wire you will be fine. If you have the patience you can get it done. And depending on the price you get the NAVI for determine how much the project will cost you since it is the most expensive part of the project.

I remember when I was researching it, there was many people saying it couldn't be done, then one person did it, and when I found that out I went ahead and did it. Mind you have a Garmin at home for when I travel but there is nothing like having the Navigation system built into the car.

Here's the thread : Navi thread at v6p

One thing I love about the 7th Generation Accords is that the Garmin C series GPS fits perfectly inside the CD storage area. I have it mounted onto a single CD case placed horizontally into the CD storage area. It may not be factory perfect, but it's totally stealth - 100% hidden behind the CD storage area when I park.

my friend did this with his MDX. i consider him one of the most talented guys i know. he also does all home, auto computer netwoking repair himself. he built his kitchen cabinets himself from a tree that fell in his grandfather's yard. he said he probably wouldn't do the nav install again. i guess it's prett difficult. it does sound like fun project though, if you have a lot of time, and a good workspace. i think i'd try it.
