Trailer Hitch Lights on a 2007 Accord ?
I'm putting a hitch on my 2007 Accord and the t-connector wiring kit that was specified for the car physically fits OK, but I'm not so sure about the way the LED brake and taillights work, that this is the correct t-connector setup. I had even called the hitch manufacturer to check and they said it was the one for this car.
Will what appears to be a standard tail light converter work with the Accords LED light system? http://search.cartserver.com/search/...t1136&GO=GO%21 118302 T-One Connector Assembly with Converter |

I would recommend checking it against what is recommended here www.etrailer.com
I've used them a couple times and they're 2 for 2 with shipping me the correct stuff.

etrailer.com shows the same part number as I have. Must be the right one. Never had a car with LED brake/tail lights so I just wasn't sure it was the correct one. The other thing that threw me was the package for the t-connector harness only went up to 2006 model Accords.

Hidden Hitch Trailer Harness
Hello-
I just installed a hitch on my wife's 2003 EX and used the following from JC Whitney: Item: 494511 CLASS I RECEIVER Item: 515105 T-CONNECTOR The hitch is of very high quality and a direct bolt-on and looks great on the car. The T-Connector plugged directly into the driver's side tail lamp in series with the bulb socket. No wires to cut, literally a 5 minute installation. Be careful of the bulb current on your trailer; I replaced my trailer lamps with 1157 base LEDs to reduce the load on the car's electrical system when the trailer is connected. Good luck, John |

LEDs only in the Trailer, not the car...
Hello-
My wife's 2003 does not have LEDs in the tail lights. I purchased 1157 LED bulbs from www.superbrightleds.com. Those inserted into the sockets of the trailer's tail lamps. 1157 normal bulbs draw several amps of current, while the LEDs draw 0.2 amps. I did not want to risk over taxing the Accord's brake / turn signal circuits. The Accord is a 4-Cyl. As such there is no drilling. I believe the V-6 cars have some extra heat shield that blocks the trailer hitch mounting points above the mufflers. Those don't exist on the 4-Cyl, so it is a direct bolt on without drilling. Happy Trailering... |
