04 coupe tires

i know this has been discussed below in numerous threads, but everyone seems to have a different goal in mind... i have yet another one!

i'm starting to save up for a new set of tires for my 04 coupe. the bridgestone turenza el41's on my car drive me nuts! they have horrible wet traction when starting and stopping, and even problems on some dry surfaces (i.e. if there is a manhole cover in my path, or a paint strip or anything slightly slick.) at firsdt i thought it was just me learning to drive a stick, but everyone else who has driven my car in the rain has run into the same problems.

my abs kicks in constantly when driving on wet roads, even with easy braking! so, to try to avoid a winter driving nightmare, i want to get some new tires that have much better traction. unlike most, i am willing to have a noisier ride if i can get much better traction! i was thinking about a bf goodrich tire because that was what i replaced my 2000 civic's oem firestones with for the same reasons and i was happy with them. i also thought the oem dunlops on my last civic were decent. but those were both different cars with different size wheels...

i should mention that i want to get another all season tire, not a seperate winter tire or anything.

also, any ideas on how i might be able to resell my current tires that have about 3500 miles on them? i'd hate to just dispose of them when they're still perfectly fine and i'm sure would suit someone's needs well!!

thanks guys!!

If you go to tire rack, they have consumer ratings on different aspects of each tire, including traction in dry, wet and winter. Personally I would say that a Yokohama tire might be good for you, maybe like an AVS dB S2 or AVS ES100 (if they make it in your size). Perhaps also Kuhmo? For the record I also have dry traction problems on my cheap Yoko A550H's, especially on freeway on-ramp expansion joints (mid-turn, car will hit the joints and drift very far lol).

I have had good results with the Goodyear Eagle GT-HR on my 2000 Accord. Excellent ride, very good traction, and you can get a great deal on them at Sears when they go on sale every 2 months (~$72 each). Comes with lifetime balancing and rotation.

Decent ratings at Tire rack too...

for some reason tires blow my mind! i wish i could go somewhere, try the tire out for 10 minutes, come back , try out the next set, and so on! too bad no place exists like that!

i might just go for the bf goodrich traction t/a because i liked those on my civic, but then again it's 2 completely different cars, so maybe i won't like them at all on my accord! (but hey atleast they're also one of the cheapest tires out there for my car!)

baffled, confused, perplexed, lost!!!

one more-this stupid construction zone i'm stuck in every day is really crappy! i can stay in the right hand lane which is littered with potholes and stop and go traffic because of ramps. OR i can stay in the left, less potholes, more consistently moving, BUT forces you to drive half on the newly paved asphalt berm. the stupid berm sits lower than the rest of the road surface and has nice little ups and downs and it's paired up with the concrete road surface. seems to be confusing the daylights out of my car! the abs kicked in this afternoon in normal stopping conditions!!!! (aside from the road surface....)

hey i1, on their 30 day thing, can you get your old tires back if you decide you don't want the others??? (guess i could look it up..... )

my husband has potenzas on his sentra and has never had an issue with them, so of course he's mad that i already want to change out my turenza's, which should be a better tire as far as he's concerned!
