Good to hear u have the problem fixed.
Just curious how to clean the TB with electronic control in 06+? Would it be damaged if we force it open?

On drive by wire cars NEVER move the throttle plate by hand.
Turn ignition on, have someone hold the accellerator or place someone on it to "floor it" this will open the throttle plate. Spray TB cleaner in the TB and WIPE it down by hand and do NOT under any circumstances move the throttle plate by hand when you do this. Just take your time and wipe everything down with a lint free cloth. Get the edge of the throttle plate especially. At idle the plate if completely closed and air seeps in around the edge to feed the idle state, that is where the problem lies. Carbon builds up around the edge and doesn't let enough air pass through. Cleaning that gunk lets the proper air flow. |

I've cleaned many a throttle plates with seafoam in a spray bottle and just let it go through the engine....cleans the IM, valves and pistons too. Worrying about some carbon soot going through your TB and engine is a non issue so removing it to clean is a bit extreme to me. Carbon builds up and burns off of your engine all the time. If things are really bad then you may need new plugs, but I always do induction/TB cleaning right before I know I'm putting new plugs on it anyway. Just my opinion/experience.

I've seen the caution in the Honda Throttle Body Cleaning Bulletin PDF about damaging the IACV.
If the throttle body is removed from intake manifold B (as described in the bulletin) and the opening in intake manifold B is completely covered to protect the IACV, can the Honda throttle plate cleaner be used liberally to clean the throttle body? I'm wondering if the MAP sensor or TPS sensor would be damaged by the cleaner? Thanks for posting the bulletin, and thanks for any advice.
