I think 65 is the limit in VA. I don't remember any higher limits.

yea, you won't find anything over 65 in VA, but in NC there are a few places where its 70 which really means 80. I wonder if there is anywhere on the east coast higher then 70mph.

NJ Turnpike......actually 65, but you get runover if you are doing that. LOL....I have been cruising at 85 and a cop passes me and keeps on going. That and I have constantly been passed while doing 85.

PA has never had 75.....

the highest speed in PA is 65, like most of the east coast states above VA....

also, I70 is only like what, 10 miles thru the narrowest part of the state. I-79 is 70, along with the little portion of I-81. and, US 19 is 65....

I thought PA had some 75. My bad, maybe I was backwards and WVA is 75 towards Morgantown and PA is 70. I generally go up to Morgantown and then from there to Columbus. I think that is 70, 68 and 79. Are those roads right?

im in falls church, VA. arrived here on the first of october, only know my godfather.. and not many other people here. this place is still new to me.

so far, i would say that virginia ****s.. well, the roads, taxes, and fines do at least - dont know about the people.

the vehicle property tax is going to cost me an arm and a leg - they are such nazis here. on top of those max $3550 fines (6 points on your record btw), they tax you on your vehicle. i did a little research, and i think it's going to cost me about $600 when i pay them. this is an annual thing too.

but yeah, back to what i was saying.. i came to VA from CA, and man there's such a HUGE difference. driving here ****s. im always too afraid to drive faster for a few reasons. firstly, it's the tickets. secondly, it is kinda dangerous to drive fast in some areas here - there are too many forks, twists and turns, and poorly designed roads (probably because the state/city is so old). thirdly, the weather conditions ****.

in california, there's no such thing as snow or hail, nazi cops, and highways are wide open.

back to the original question.. i finally got the opportunity to check my MPG, and i have to say.. it's not good at all. i average 20.68 MPG.

i went 142 miles and burned up 6.885 gallons. 25 of those 142 miles are on the highway. i wonder how much an I4 would compare to this (with the exact same driving conditions).

reminds me...

back in like 2002 i had a 97 corolla. well spedometer onlyh went to like 110, but i know i was going faster. i went like 115 or so on nj turnpike for like 5 miles. all the cops were on the other side of the turnpike with cars they nailed, so after i passed the 5th car, i decided to slow down.

where in falls church? falls church is like big and its really west or east falls church. East falls church is more arlington/ballston and roads **** towards there.

west falls church is more tysons corner/fairfax area and is nicer.

drivers here ****, but if i see a california plate i stay 50 feet from them at all times. cali drivers are worse.

when people refer to the dc metro traffic......yes, it includes us in northern va and yes, we're like #2 in traffic (behind L.A.)

weathers ok. i like having 4 seasons unlike parts of california. Beware of retards on the road when it first snows. trust me, try to avoid going out the first 2 days of snow (because people who live here just forget what driving in snow is like.....pretty retarded too).

It doesn't take actual snow, just the forecast of snow. 2 flakes and you'll have some d-bag driving on the dotted lines with his hazzard lights on. DC, you gotta love it.
