i don't believe it's a sports coupe..thatd be pretty silly..heck even my company agent said something about how it really has a nice price due to safety...i thought it was a good rate..

turned 25 about a year ago...

combination/multiple car policy

968$ For both cars... honda , full coverage ... mb , liability

can't recall the split ..but I believe the mercedes is around 225$ for liability
500$ deduct.

i believe that it's still considered a family car, altho it is a coupe.

i pay about the same amount of insurance for full coverage on the 99 as i do for bare-minimum converage on the 93...

keep in mind:

- 1999 coupe
- 1993 sedan

both 4 cyls

Insurance was a major factor for me, when I was comparing the 2006 RSX Type-S and my 2006 6MT coupe...in the end, I think the RSX was around $500-700 MORE a year since I was under 25 at the time. Rates here in Ontario aren't very good, but long story short I went with the Accord and when I turned 25 my rates dropped to half of what they were when I was 24.

Honestly I don't think the insurance companies look at the Accord as a sports anything...It's rated the same as any mid-size family car, with some extra dollars tacked on due to the fact it is the 2 door variant vs the 4 door model (but it doesn't change the car's class).

Long story short, call your insurance company on even use progressive online to compare cars...I think you might be surprised by what you find

I've heard different things. My friend has his base trim civic insured as a sports car because the insurance company only considers the weight/hp ratio. Kind of dumb if you ask me. I've also heard of this happening with accord v6 owners. But, other people have said that their insurance companies do not consider their cars sports cars just because of the hp/weight. I really have no idea how it works, but it seems to vary from company to company.

The Accord Coupe is not classified as a Sports Car. Contact your insurance company for their definition.

For those of you in California and Oregon I HIGHLY recommend you get a quote from Wawanesa Insurance. They are by far the least expensive Insurance company for these to states that you will find anywhere else. They are an excellent company. They are geared towards excellent drivers with no hits on your driving record. I have had to make a couple of claims with them. Prompt, fast and reliable and never did my insurance go up as my claims were due to others fault.

DO IT NOW! You want regret it if you are in Cali or Oregon!

It depends on the company. Accord to the company I have, ANPAC, the 2 door coupe is classified differently than the Sedan. Our SE V6 cost $529 every six months and the 07 Coupe LX I4 cost $699

I went from the 05 ex sedan to the 08 lx-s coupe and my insurance decreased by $50 for the year. But I'm assuming the drop is because it's a lx.

And don't forget that there is a lot more that goes into insurance quotes for coupes besides "sportiness". The design of the vehicle and how well it holds up in crashes, the popularity/availability of a certain model and how expensive the parts are, etc.

This thread's kinda like those "How much did you pay for your Accord" threads. Price will vary depending on insurance company, your age, location, age of vehicle, trim level, driving history, credit score, type of coverage, how much coverage, deductible, etc......

It's going to vary from person to person.

I agree that insurance rates will vary from person to person, not just the type of car. Tho some cars do carry a surcharge, I don't think that the Accord is one of them.

Going from an 06 EX-L sedan to an 08 V6 6sp coupe, my annual premium only went up $55. But again, that could be just me.
