I'm looking for rims on ebay and some of the sellers say a +40mm offset or 45mm offset. What does the offset refer to? And do the 2003 Accord LX's have a preferred offset?

Thanks for the clarity. Another question, the first link said that too negative of an offset will cause the suspension to work harder than normal and the last link said that the bolts should be torqued to factory specs. Rims i found on ebay had an offset of negative 44mm (-44mm). Is that too great of a negative offset? I am not pin the process of buying any rims yet as my money situation won't permit but is that offset too much? SHould i try to find something with a positive offset? And what does the effects of torqueing the lug nuts have on the cars performance? Thanks

All good ?s Steven I am not positively sure on the 7th gen but 40mm sounds correct.... -40mm will have half or more outside the wheel well(major ricer if you know what I mean) and can create major problems since that will increase the stress on bearings.
Here's another site with more info........ http://www.1010tires.com/ Torqueing your lug nuts will not do anything for performance other than keeping your wheels from falling off I1

What would make my car not look like a ricer lol. For instance what offset would give my car a clean aggressive look. 2003 Accord LX 4cyl. I want to get rid of the wheel cover set up and make it more presentable and better looking. On ebay I've found some nice rims and on tirerack.com also. I dont have a lot to spend. 17"x7-7.5 is what im looking for unless 18" are affordable. Thanks.

Check out this site also for prices............
http://www.wheelmax.com/ Did you do the test fit pictures on Tire Rack?? I see 1010 tire has those also.. Just remember when you plus size you will lose ride quality due to the fact of a shorter sidewall on the tire(not as much flex) but you will usually gain some cornering quality depending on the tire. Then you also have to deal with the fact that your car is at stock ride height and will look strange with ++(18") size.. time to lower.. Going to a + (17" )may not look as bad.. If you stay in the 35-40mm offset you will be fine.. Hope this helps I1

Yeah i was looking at the excel tire/wheel packages and im considering going with a 5 spoke 17x7.5 set up. The silver finish should compliment my car well since I have the satin silver body color.

Also, you mentioned that with the addition of rims i would need to lower the car. Since I want to also install the rear sway bar from the '04 acura TL-s, it comes with the bushings and brackets, if I just buy lowering springs -eibach preferrably- is that all i would need to maximize my cars look?

You get what you pay for. Excel = crap. Heavy, soft, easily bent, poor finishing, top that off with the crappy tires included in those "wheel/tire" packages, and it's definitely a done deal for me. If you want to put new wheels onto such a new car, just save your money for better ones. I'm not talking about $5000 18" Volk CE-028N or LE-37T, but just something with better quality (SSR, Mille Miglia, BBS, etc).

OoOo i didn't know they weren't of good quality. I thought you said the exel line of wheels was good. Anyway rims are not on the to do list of my car as I have minor damage in hood to fix up. ALso, the previously mentioned info about the sway bar and lowering springs, is that a good set up that wont compromise car/ride quality?

What about motegi rims? Looking on wheelmax they have some nice rims at decent prices. Are they a good brand or should I stay away from them too? And what tire ratings are good I see on most of the tire specs of them having ratings of 205/40/17. What do they mean?
