THAT looks more like it. I just don't like to be perceived as a 'poseur' with an Acura key. But it's the TSX one, correct?
Now to the better questions: How much? How would you program it without the car? Does it work in ALL 8th gens? I have the V6 6MT Coupe. Thx. JC |

This is not the TL NOR the TSX key. This is a not even made by HONDA. It is some company that made switchblades for the HONDA since a lot of the HONDA drivers want switchblades.
I love the ACURA switchblade, but it has the ACURA logo on the back that you can't replace with a HONDA logo. One guy online tried and it doesn't look good. This key was designed and made with the HONDA logo on the back. All you need to do is just cut the key. Doesn't need to be programmed, because you wil have to take your fob chip and buttons from your REAL honda key and just moved them and place them in this switchblade. |

The key is $40 on ebay plus another $10 for shipping.
You just need to cut it (SOme people paid $40 to cut it and some less and some FREE) Doesn't have to be programmed. You just move your buttons and chip to this key and you are done. |

Looks to cheap IMO. Sorry, I wouldn't get it though.

How can it be cheap if it's the same as OE?

That's the whole reason why it looks cheap to me. A BMW 3 series is 45k too, but they don't even have a bladed key. Same with the altima. The TSX key at least has accented buttons which make it look somewhat nice. What I don't like about the OEM key (as well as the listed key by the OP) is that the Civic and the Fit have the same key.

Maybe not in the pictures, but I bet it will in the flesh. Until somebody can vouch for it, I wouldn't get one either.
And how about 'No need to program', rather than 'Free Prog'? HATE deceiving claims. Later. JC |

yea people have purchased this key and have regretted it. sometimes it wouldnt even start your car. and if you look at the buttons the icons are just printed just like the OG key which means over time it will rush off. For the tsx key the buttons are emboss which looks and feels a lot nicer.
Im sure there is already a thread about this somewhere on this forum. Here are some pictures my key close up ![]() ![]()

My recommendation is that if you don't mind paying a Honda dealer for reprogramming/cutting, get the OEM '09 TSX key for ~$35 and an multi-model OEM Honda key w/ a desired 'H' emblem for $5-$10 & swap the emblems (some skill required). It beats cannibalizing a perfectly good '08 Accord OEM key for a generic after-market blank and then later having issues!

I have that key. It wouldn't fit the ignition after getting it cut. It looks OK, but seems like a toss up as to whether or not it will work. The build quality is definitely less than an OEM key too.
I bought the 09 TSX key and that works perfect with my 08 coupe. |

Beware, the silver paint on those buttons wear off over time just like any other key fob Acura has (check the 3rd gen TL and MDX remotes). Mine ware worn off around the edges of the button icons.
