Quick question about the RDS 8th gen

Radio Data System (RDS)

I recently brought my 08 exl-v6 W/nav accord into the dealer to fix the squealling/squeaking brake noise coming from the car. They replaced all the pads on both front and back and resurfaced the discs/rotors. Anyway I noticed when i got in the car and turned on the radio on to find that the station and song information was scrolling. This was never present before. In the past it would just show the station name and sit there. To get any type of station or song information i would have to go into the audio menu.

Is this a feauture i passed over in the past and neglected to turn on or did they upgrade something (FW/SW)? I checked the manual and couldn't find anything about displaying/scrolling station info on the small display below the big navigation screen.

TIA - Tempest

PS. Not a peep out of the brakes all night after driving for about 4 hours. We'll see what happens in the next few weeks.

I dont have Navi but more than likely a porter must have hit a button your not aware of. I wouldnt think they would upgrade firmware/software if you took it in for a brake job.

Possibly, curious as to what button this may have been as again I read the manual and saw no available function. I remember looking for it as my brother in law at the time had some other car that did the same thing and i was amazed mine didn't have that function. then today to see this was a suprise to me.

maybe its a press and hold type of thing. I dont have the navi system so I dont know if mine does it or not. I remeber the salesmen going over all the functions of the radio to me but being a sound man I didnt pay attention and figured it would be no problem for me to figure out. Maybe some some other NAVI users can help ya.

RE: Quick question about the RDS 8th gen

My LX-P w/o NAVI has the RDS (Radio Data Sytem) and will display the staion, song and artist data when and if the station transmits the RDS Data. Refer to your user manual for how to engage.

^ That is exactly it. This information will only display and scroll if the radio station is broadcasting that data with the song. So, depending on the station, you may or may not see this information being displayed.
