The ABS/VSA unit is listed as rewritable, just like ECU so maybe they could do firmware update to alter bias if that is a available option if its to much to the rear.
Whats odd to me is such a big range of mileage that pads last, some 11K to 30k pretty big range

I was told that Honda is working on altering the computer chip to change the 80% rear brake useage to a more even application.

what I did with my 7th gen brake issues (different issue) was asked the dealer to pickup labor, and install my pads.... Some dealers say no to 3rd party. Mine was fine with it.

If you have 12k miles or less the Honda is paying for your rear brake pads and installation if they wear out.

12-24k miles they will pay for half of the replacement and installation cost.

So basically have your pads checked if you still have less that 12k miles and get them replaced now if are less than a couple mm's left. I just had mine replaced today at 18,800 miles and it cost me about $91. The pads themself will run you 76 buck if you use OEM from dealer if Honda wasn't helpng us out. My understanding is that they are looking to into the problem to see what kind of actions are going to be taken for a recall, if any?

would they do this for 09's also?

As another poster in this thread noted on his '09, my '09 has also had squealing brakes since it hit 500 miles, primarily (but not exclusively) from the rear brakes. In my case, the squealing noise is only under light brake pedal pressure, and goes away when you put more "foot into it", so to speak. Also, it doesn't always happen ... even under otherwise identical conditions. I took all of the pads out to inspect, and all looked fine. I sprayed the backs of the pad (after taking off the shims and de-greasing them) with "disk brake quiet", put the shims back on, de-glazed both pads and rotors, and re-assembled. 3000 miles later, the fronts are quiet, but the rears are once again squealing. Time permitting, I'll look at the rears again this weekend, to see if unusual wear has begun to show itself. I have seen alot of brake dust on the rears, a bit more that on the fronts in fact, so I suspect that the ABS/VSA/EBD system is putting more pressure towards the rear of the car - possibly as a stability enhancing technique ???? In addition, I am a frequent "parking brake user" (my '09 has the manual transmission in it), and based on that, as well as from my experience with an identically equipped '01 Accord that preceded the current '09, to see the inside rear pads wear out first, as the parking brake is actuated by mechanically "kicking over" the rear calipers, putting the inside rear pad in contact with the brake rotor. It would be interesting to know how many of us out there who have experienced rapid rear pad wear, particularly the inside pad, are parking brake users ....

If you can't locate the number, what makes you think any of the rest of us can?

Has anybody PM'd "Princess"? She should be able to verify if a TSB is out or in the making.

In my experience, they are squealing because the shims between the back of the brake pad and the caliper are experiencing a metal on metal contact because the grease in between them evaporated from heat.

In my application, after I greased up the areas where shims touch the brake pad/calipers, the noise went away.

FYI, the front inner pads have 2 shims, and there is definite metal on metal contact there. Upon inspection you will notice that there is very minimal amount of lubricant left. At least for me there was no lubricant left and I am at 8k miles.

At what mm width they will replace it for free? I mean does it has to be less than specific width(mm) in order to get them replace under TSB?

Mine is 10800 miles 08 sedan.

First off thanks, Chris.McConathy for posting about the service bulliten. I have just started hearing my rear brakes go bad, the sad thing is that im only at 23k. Hopefully I can swing by the dealer tomorrow and get them to do something about it.
