Fog HID Colors, Opinions!

Is there any reason why fog's are traditionally yellow? Is it best to go with 2000k HID's for fogs? or have them match at 6500k?

Thanks!

I'm no expert, but I've heard that the yellowish tint gives better visibility during rain, fog, and other inclement weather as it causes less glare.

Always wondered why people got yellow ones as well. Personally I think it looks better if they match the headlights.

Ever since IS300's came with the yellow fogs with HID's, I fell in love. Especially on a white vehicle. It is such a great contrast. But everyone has their own personal opinion.

yellow light cuts through fog and less than desirable weather conditions better than white light......personally i think that amber/orange fogs would look sick on our cars but its harder than hell trying to find quality h11 bulbs in that color

There is a reason why the 24 Hour Lemans circuit cars usually have one white HID light and one Yellow HID light.... exactly as outlined above...the yellow ion like light cuts through smoke, fog, rain much easier than pure white HID light....the combo gives much better optics for the drivers who rotate in and out through the evening and morning hours.
