Sedan wheel and tire fitment help!

Hey so I finally have a chance to buy used wheels that i wanted that have been discontinued. The problem is that they are staggered with two that are 18x7.5 and two that are 18x8. Is it possible to put the same size tires like 235 on without really noticing the difference or is there a way to make the wheels look even? I don't want the staggered look but I have a decent price and it's local. What is the difference in performance if the larger wheels are up front or in back? I know our cars are fwd so I don't know what I should do. I'm new to buying aftermarket wheels and tires any help is appreciated. thanks.

it might look flush with each other, you can run 235 on all 4....
larger wheels up front=more oversteer.
larger wheels in back=more understeer. but it shouldn't effect your daily driving.

235 on the 18x7.5 would look a bit meatier than on the 18x8.

if you want them to look the same, i would say go with a narrower size on the 18x7.5. so 225/235 f/r or 235/245 f/r.

and always put the larger wheels on the back, unless you are building a FWD drag car or something. for one, it looks weird if the front wheels are bigger or wider than the rear, and also bigger wheels in the front would increase the car's tendency to over steer (which is typically more dangerous than understeer).

Yea i would probably put them up front. The offsets are 45 for the 8" wide and 42" for the 7.5" wide. I'm worried that if the wide wheels are up front it"ll look funny and would be easier to accidentally curb em. Would 245 all around be too wide?

its gonna be a pretty agressive setup, i can tell you right now the wheel wont stick out, but the back tire wont be flush unless you put a spacer in.

If i get 1/2 inch spacers for the back and put 235 tires on the 8" and 225 tires on the 7.5" would that work or should i just put 235 tires all around?

well if you're going to stagger them, might as well put the wider ones in the back, wrap them in 235s and put the thin ones in the front wrap those in 225s. then you wont need any spacers which are kinda expensive. you will have understeer, but since you're not going to be tracking the car you wont notice it unless you take sharp turns and really high speeds.

I meant that I would add the 1/2 inch spacer to the 7.5" wide wheel to cancel out the staggered look and make them look even. I really wouldn't want the staggered look on my car especially since its the sedan.

it won't really look staggered since it'll be flush with your fenders.
but say if you did get 15mm spacers, you'll still be staggered so when it comes time to rotate the tires you're gonna end up with a mess on your hands.
i would either go with the staggered setup or keep looking for the wheels. what kind are they i can probably help you find a cheap pair.

All looks aside where should I put the wider wheels to minimize performance issues? I know about about the oversteer understeer but is it possible that if I place my wheels I can have less of a chance of either of the two? I heard fwd are prone to understeer so should i put the wide wheels in the front to counteract that? Any suggestions? Any help is appreciated.
