CD Player won't play CDs

hey im not sure if its just me but ive bumped into an audio problem with my 01 accord. i know there are stickys regarding the radio problems but my radio works fine. its just my cd player thats not working. i dont know whats wrong with it. i insert a cd and it just automatically ejects it out. i have a 6 disc cd changer and all 6 cd slots eject it out. i tried searching for similar threads but no luck. so this is my last resort by creating my own thread... any help would be greatly appreciated. please and thanks in advance!

Is it full? Have you tried to eject any disks out of the player?

is your car still under warranty? now might be a good time to schedule a visit with a good service department...

Seems loke the Laser is either bad or dirty. See if you can access the laser lens and clean it.

A friend had a similar issue with the stereo in her Civic. The dealer adjusted a spring or something in the stereo and it was fine. I don't remember how much it cost her. Stop by the dealer or call them to see if they can give you some info about a possible fix. They may have seen this issue before.

Have you tried calling a local stereo install shop? I know some shops repair stereos even if they're OEM.

If you're getting to the point of paying a shop or dealer to repair it, you may want to instead consider buying a used one off of ebay. The last time I checked there were plenty available.

CD Player not working

My CD player in a 2005 Accord stopped working. Although it was full, it kept saying 'load' but would not accept or eject disks.

I went to a local car audio shop. He told me this is a common problem in '02-06 Accords.

He gave me 2 options- for somewhere between $2-300, they'd take the whole unit out and fix. The 'whole' unit includes all the temperature gauges, so I'd be not only without a radio, no heat or AC for the week it'd take to fix. Or, he'd put a single playing CD in the dashboard holder. I'm not crazy about either option and I do miss my CDs.

I tried to disconnect the battery as is suggested here, but now it won't even go into CD mode and the display looks like it's empty of CDs even though all 6 are full.

Little help? What about bitching to Honda if they know this is a common problem?

Thanks!
