i like a massive fool and idiot that i am, went ahead and got 215/45/17s...!!!!!

im such a stupid fool..now my speedo is gonna be all off,(by 3.3%) and my mileage will be all off and im going to have huge wheel gap...



my whole day is now ruined now that i realise my stupid mstake..i need a bucket of icecream...

Isn' that size pretty close to the accessory wheel size of 215/50/17.

I assume if the accessory wheel is that close to your 45's, it should not make a huge difference.

Would the 215/50/17 be as accurate as the stock wheels?

Just curious, as I just bought a set of TSX wheels for our Accord..............

The total diameter of that tire is only about .84 inches. which isn't that much. a 225/45-17 would be midway

stock diameter 25.46 inches.
your tire 24.62 inches.
225/45-17 24.97 inches.
or lower the car a bit.

It appears that the TSX wheels in size 215/50/17 are really a negligible difference when it comes to the speedometer error.

I run 205/65R15 when it's meant to run a 195 tire. No biggie. Is my speedo off? Probably, but somehow it's off in the wrong direction. Logically, my speedo should read slow (so if I was going 30 it might read 28). However, on local radar, I've been clocked at 28 while my speedo was checking in near 35. Weird, but hey works alright for me.

nope tires arent in as yet,. i realised the stupid mistake after they got shipped from tirerack to the wheel guy to get mounted. i guess i could have them returned but it would cost me another 100 at least. the total setup at the moment is 980 shipped to my door.

on the bright side i just lost about 12lbs per corner. given that the rims are 14.5 lbs and the tires are 21 lbs. stock rim 23.5 lbs, michelin tire 24 lbs.

so i guess i will be spinning wheels all day since they are so nice and light.

ok, the smaller you diameter the LOWER your speed thann what your SPEEDO reads. So in my case if my speedo reads 100 mph, ill be goin 96.5 mph based on the .9 inch lower diameter setup.

now what upsets me is that now my warranty will be up 1100 miles earlier...

once i get them installed ill get pics out. but i can gurantee the wheel gap being at least 7 fingers....

HFP is no longer an option im guessing. sportlines, or Stechs here i come.

Seriously, 7 fingers? Most of the 6th genners are only getting about 3-4 fingers at stock ride height

right now my entire hand fits in. so i guess 7 fingers is a little exaggeration, but yeah close to 6 fingers with the additional 1 inch gap i generated.

Actual 70 mph Indicated 73.03 mph +3.03 mph. This chart is a little easier for me to use for some reason. Just scroll down & enter original tire size (A), then the size you wish to change to (B), check the box "Compare A to B" and bada bing.

damn i got 215-45-17 for my hfp rims. i'm not gonna lower it either. i'll see how it looks next week.

ur going to increase ur wheel gap by about i finger. i was able to get the tires swapped out for 50 pros. i would lower your car. definately helps a lot. the 45 tire was upsetting me because of the odometer being off. i personally would prefer a lower pro tire. 225 45 would be a wiser choice than 215/15
