megan racing coilovers

Anyone have any experience with megan racing coilovers? I wanted to wait for tein but they dont seem to go very low, according to the pics by (eskenb). He said they can only go down another 10mm. Here is a pic of the megan racing ones. . .

i also heard the D2 ones are good.. im not sure where i saw a pic of them on our cars but it was a nice drop

Yea, ive heard mixed reviews about d2 and ksport. I just want a quality coilover that has an agressive drop.

All they're good for is a noticeable 'drop & stiff/firm ride. Nothing else, but then again- that's all most people want in an economy/non-sporty car. . .

As you just said you want a "quality coilover", you should not get the Megan Sport coilovers. It's not the inherent design, R&D, or origin of the assembly/fabrication/manufacturing that matters the most... but, rather the choice of materials used! Lots of corners are cut by makers of replica/copy-cat after-market parts, as that's where the price difference & profit margins come to light.

If lowering the coupe & having a more sporty street-ride (meaning non-track/road-course) is desired, just get some Eibach or H&R lowering springs w/ the OEM shocks/struts. You'll be just fine. The shocks/struts can last for 60k-120k miles w/ lowering-springs, depending on driving-style/geography.

QFT. I'm sure that by the time your OEM struts/shocks start giving out, there will be aftermarket ones that you can replace them with, or have the money to get QUALITY coilovers.

I agree, i dont plan on going that low but the picture of the teins seems not much more than a spring drop. Especially in the rear. The front looks pretty good. If im gona spend a grand on coilovers, i just wana make sure they are going to give me what i want out of them.

Exactly the teins dont look so low, for the money id just go with springs alone if thats the case. I want a noticable but not dramatic drop (slammed).


But personally i dont think the white one shown is too low, i think its a good drop.. its just the high angle of the picture

Exactly what im thinking. I want a drop thats going to sit the fenders just at the top of the tire. Not one with a two finger gap.

To sit right on the tires, you're talking a 2.5 inch drop. Then if you get people in the car, you get that "saggy" slammed look.

If you're going to go with coilovers, you should be more interested in performance and or quality.....not so much how low they can go. After all, what would be the point of buying coilovers when you can just wait for a set of race springs to come out and buy them???

You would get the look and save the money. Just my 2 cents. I say this because for me, I would be interested in having a quality set of coilovers, ie...Teins, that would provide a nice drop and even nicer handling.

there is absolutely no need for "32 way dampening". That's just ridiculous. My K-Sport have something like that and only 3 of those clicks are even in the usable range to drive on. Utter crap...like "but this cd player goes up to volume 100"

the problem with race springs is any springs that drop the car more than 1.5", chances are ur going to blow out your factory shocks, ive done it. And there arnt any aftermarket shocks out for our cars that i know of. So its coilovers that i want because i want atleast a 2" drop
