LED Turn Signals

So on my 4dr 7th gen I finally got some LEDs for the front turn signals. I also have some load resistors, but there are 3 wires going into the socket for the bulb: black, red, brown. Which are the two I need to put the splice taps into? Thanks.

If you have a multi-meter: you can test the brown and red wires to find out which one is the driving light (constant power) and which is the intermittent signal (gives intermittent signal regardless of headlight switch position); black, of course, being the ground. Once you've found out which one does what, you'll want to splice one end of the resistor to the ground wire (black) and the other to the intermittent-signal wire. At least that's how I figured it out; don't remember which wire is which, been so long since I wired the resistors to my car...best advice I can give... If you don't have a multi-meter, then you'll have to wait till someone gives you the info on which wire (brown or red) does what. I believe you can buy a cheap multi-meter at Wal-Mart for under 10 bones...don't quote me on that...

How do they look in broad daylight? I've gotten the impression that it is difficult to see LED bulbs during the daytime.

led in daylight

the rear are hard to see because the red drowns out the amber. However, I am planning on getting hybrid tails in a few months. Otherwise, they are not as easy to see as bulbs, but you can see them.

LFSoccer, did you put LED bulbs in your front lights for the turn signal/side marker? I'm interested to see what this looks like if you have any pics...

Just as someone else had said in another thread about LED bulbs, daylight drowns out some of the LED light. During very bright days, it can be a bit hard to see my LED turn signal lights (both front and back). But, just like LFSoccer2k6 LED bulbs, mine are just as bright at night.

Non LED bulb. For example: white on Park, amber on signal.
