Since I live in practically a desert and summer is approaching I'm going to be tinting the back 3 windows. Black leather makes for a very hot car in relatively cool weather (compared to what summer weather is like).
In my old car there was heavy tinting on the back windows and that helped a lot.I was wondering what that cost of tinting the windows were in everyone's experience? |

Since you live in a desert area, has it occurred to you to ask local installers what their prices are?
Where are you? Sedan? Coupe? More information would be helpful to say the least. I paid about $155 for 35% tint on a 2004 Accord sedan in Texas with a nationwide lifetime warranty on labor and product. This was back in 2004 though. Africa would cost more, North Dakota would cost less. Provide some info please. |

depends on where you go i guess. there is a tint place by my house that does good work so i went there, $175 for 5% on the back 3 and 35% on the front 2 (coupe). its definitely worth it in my opinion. the place i went also has a lifetime warranty on fading and peeling.

I was a professional tinter for five years... you get what you pay for. cheap tint will turn purple and fade in two years. pay for something that has at least five layers and preferrable a metalized layer. All windows up here in Canada would go for around $250.00 for the good stuff and $200 for the crap. Don't put $99 tint on a $30,000.00 car.
Trust me... I've peeled off tonnes of the crap and charged double to replace it. you want a Madico product or SunGard. make sure it's metalized and see what the UV and IR rejection rates are on the tint. Remember, you will see " halos" around the headlights when looking in the rear view as your defroster lines form prizms with the tint film... |

I just paid $189 + tax in NW Florida for tint on my wife's TL. It was 20% all around with Johnson brand tint.
However, like some have said already, asking people from other areas isn't going to do much good. Call a few local shops and that will give you a good idea if anyone is way out of line with pricing. My biggest suggestion is to ask your local honda dealer (or even non-honda dealers) for their recommendations on where to get the tint done. That definitely helped me find the place I used and so far the tint looks great. On a side note, has anyone had issues with their tint scratching with a 7th gen accord? That's my biggest fear about tinting mine, especially with how much I open and close my windows moreso than using the A/C

big time! it can never go away. i got the felt put on to try and reduce it and it definitely did, but its still not perfect. tint it, but get the felt when they offer it!!! it will be like 20 to 40 dollars more for the felt inserts! get it, it works!

Yeah I would agree don't get the cheapo $99 tints (they will turn purple in the sun in no time
)Got mine done in lower Ny for $125 - 20% all around .... even though I did have some bubbles show up after the four days of drying out, i went back and they were all fixed free of charge ... but i think the biggest issue with tints is the warranty you get ... lifetime for me, but i've heard of 5-7 years and only if your film fades or peels will they fix it .... I also have issue's with the 7th gen and tint scratching (drivers side leaves a long line vertically towards the mirror) like something is in the window jam marking it up .. whats up with that? No real problems just a line in the form of a scratch but not bad enough that i have to get the tint replaced ...

The $180.00 I paid included the felt. I was worried about that when I was getting quotes. Some places were telling me anywhere from 250 to 300. I got a buddy who's been doing tint for almost 10 years now and he took care of it.
