This company is too reputable to worry that it will screw up car. I can't believe this is anything more than a sparse version of their professional product with a small onboard memory chip. I tried to get them to offer us better pricing with group buy, but the guy said they can't do that without upsetting people like TireRack

I then successfully downloaded my summer codes into the Quickset. My next step was to pretend to change to winters by putting the winter codes back into the car with the Quickset, driving the car until the tpms light came on, then inputting the summer codes, driving the car until the light went out.

But, I ran into a problem. I detailed my car Saturday and it was threatening to rain, which it did off and on after I got the car back home so I haven't had a chance to do the pretend swap - I refused to take the car out and get it dirty after all that work - it rained on and off Sunday too.

So far it does everything it said it would but I have yet to do the actual drive test I wanted to.

One final note: when I popped in the CD to download the software, part way through I got a message saying that the software was not verified by Microsoft. I chose to install anyway and shortly thereafter my computer froze, which never happens. After a reboot, uninstall of Quickset and then a reinstall, it worked fine with no problems since - it requires an internet connection so I configured my firewall to let it access the net and perhaps it updated itself.

So, a partial review only at this time.

Did you try to see if installing the Quickset into the OBDII without programming, if the Quickset would import the onboard TPMS data? Someone said it was suppossed to do that, but I cannot confirm.

It does. It pulls out whatever four codes you have stored in the car. That's how I got my winter codes into the Quickset initially, and now also the summer codes. Or, you can manually type in the codes if you have them.

I'll try to do the swap test tonight after work.

I'd love to see the User's Guide for this tool but the ATEQ sites are crap (hope their hardware is better ;-) ). 5th honda is there a manual on the CD (PDF, HTML, whatever). If yes, would you be able to upload it here via attachment? If it's too big, please PM me.

Also, I'm assuming that when you talk about "inputting sensor codes" you are referring to doing it via the PC software. Is this correct?

Good find. My dealer charged me $100 to do the TPMS reset. At $200, this tool pays for itself in 2 swaps. Beauty!

Thanks.

There's nothing I can send - there are a bunch of exe files and some others.

Here are a few screen shots. I was wrong about something though. I thought I had downloaded both sets of codes from the obd but the summer ones didn't appear. You can download a first set into the QS but the second set must be typed in, which I was able to do.

Then I was going to do the swap but when I open the software it makes me select my car all over again which wipes out the codes. I'm going to call them tomorrow.

What I suspect is that the whole thing should be done as a single operation - i.e. load the cd, follow the instructions in screen shot two, then type in the codes for the four additional sensors after the first four are in via the obd.

I might try that tomorrow.

Or load both sets in by typing them. Kinda ****s that something seemingly so simple has given me a headache.

That doesn't look like a very expensive interface to create, but as long as it works w/o glitches, i'm okay with it.

Yes, very simple. The good news is, it works. I must have been tired last night.

Tonight I started from scratch but this time typed in my winter codes right after getting the summer codes from the obd and it worked properly, holding them even after I closed and reopened the program.

However, I can't get to the red screen part of the instructions (this is the part that actually describes how to swap sensors with the Quickset via the obd) without starting from scratch and loading in all the codes again - which is not a huge pita seeing as it only has to be done twice yearly. I sent them an email.

Very good to hear. I'm glad it is communicating with the OBDII port w/o a hitch. Can't wait to have a Quickset of my own.

I spoke with Jeff from Ateq Canada yesterday and the Quickset is sold out. They are expecting them back in stock by mid May. He also emailed me the user's manual but there's a notice in it about obtaining permission from Ateq before making the manual available for download. I've requested permission to make the manual available here and hopefully they won't decline after seeing the interest in the tool.

Later.

I got this from Jeff:

The function of “Load old set”.
Once the two sets information have been stored, users could
1. Select the “Summer or Winter Mode”
2. Click the “Load old set”
3. Select the “set” previously stored that will be using for the reset.
4. Click “confirm”
5. Click “To TPM QuickSet”
6. Click “Confirm”
7. Red instruction screen will pop out again.
Users will never need to reenter the set information again.

I thought I tried every combination possible to get that red screen back but I missed one, bc the above procedure worked like a charm. It would have been nice to have that manual.

All is good.

Thank you for your inquiry.

We plan on carrying it when it as soon as it is released. The manufacturer is still working on it. It will work on your 2009 Honda Accord.
We're hoping to have it Mid June.
There isn't a way to pre-order it. So please check our website and/or email us in Mid June.

Thanks
