Quick Question for Those Who've Used the Langka Kit

Unfortunately, I recently found the need to pick up the Langka Paint Chip Repair Kit. In reading the directions on their site, what they emailed me and what is written on the bottles, it says to wait 90 minutes to 4 days before using the Blob Eliminator. My guess is that it all depends on the touch-up paint you're using. So, how long has everyone been waiting when using genuine Honda touch-up paint?

Any other comments, tips, etc. are welcome!

The blob eliminator is some wicked stuff if not used properly.
I have gone as short as 4 hrs and up to 2 weeks.
High humidity always let dry longer as well as applying touch up too thick.

You should thoroughly clean the area with a good cleaner (or alcohol) first before applying the touchup paint. If there's rust, you got to sand it down first (try not to get the clearcoat). Once you've put enough layers on there, wait a day or two, then use the Langka kit. If the paint chip is huge, say, more than 3mm in diameter, then you might want to consider getting it fixed professionally (especially if you have metallic paint). The touchup paint is almost always going to be a little duller/ darker than the original finish.

On langka's website they explain that if the touch up paint appears duller than the rest of the car, then you can make a 1:1 mixture of paint to clear coat to use in the chips. I am tempted to try this, but would like to know if anyone's done this already.

I assume I can get the clearcoat touchup at a automotive parts store?

Clear touch up should be available at most all parts stores that sell touch up paint

i've personally gone as little as the 90 minutes. and i've gone over a day. both ways worked fine. the shorter the time, the more likely it seems that you will end up pulling too much paint out and you'll end up having to do another round!

my rec is that if it is just a small chip, you'll be fine with less than a day.

if it's a large chip, scratch-i'd wait atleast 1 day to make sure the paint is thoroughly dry.

and as i1 mentioned, keep in mind the weather. if it's humid, give hte paint more time to dry/set!!!

Thanks to all for the tips and pdfs!

It's supposed to be real nice here (mid-80's, low humidity) this weekend so I think I'm going to wash the car, apply the pre-paint cleaner and do the touch-up paint on Saturday. Then Sunday I'll give the blob eliminator a whirl.

I'll let everyone know how it goes and likely take, and post, some before/during/after pics.

Lankga Kit Driving Me Nuts!

Does anyone have any tips on using the Langka kit? I've tried twice now and both times I've pulled out all the paint! The first time I let the paint dry 24 hours and the second time a full 7 days! Should I let it dry two weeks or more?!?

Thanks!

Mmmmm.. Make sure you use the buffer card wrapped in a finely woven cloth (like a t-shirt). Go in one direction and use light pressure. If that still removes all the paint, you can either wait longer before using langka or you can dilute the solution with a few drops of water or dampen the cloth before applying the langka on it. Don't put langka directly on the touch-up paint.

Im going to have to check into this lankga stuff.

Ive always dont it with tooth picks. ultra fine brushs, thinned out factory touch up paint, which is laquer most of the times and ulta fine sand papers 2k grit and above and even model detail sand papers at 4k to 10k grit. then a standard car polish and wax.

Theres a easyer way???
