I traveled about 200 miles from Austin, TX to Baytown, TX, (which is just outside of Houston) to buy my 2009 Accord EXL V6/6MT. There were none of these cars in central Texas at the time, as manual transmission in V6 are tough to find.
It turns out that this dealership had swapped my car's trunk with another EXL 4 cylinder, simply because the buyer of the other car wanted a deck lid spoiler. What did this mean for me? 1. I've got a trunk lid from another car. The theft recover ID and VIN ID tags don't match my car. 2. They never bothered to order a replacement spoiler and attach it. I got less car than I paid for. 3. They never disclosed the trunk swap modification at any time during the negotiation or the final sales transaction. 4. They used some type of clear glue/epoxy to reattach the "V6" symbol on the back. After I debadged, I had to shave off this cr@p very carefully with a razor. 5. The lines of the trunk lid don't match up 100% with the body. I'm sure these lines are tweaked prior to paint. 6. A complete waste of my time to chase this down and get my trunk brought back to OEM spec. 7. After I discovered this discrepancy, I called the sales manager to complain. His' initial responses were "You got a great deal" and "You're worried about a tiny little lip?". The correct response would have been, "Our mistake, let's make it right at your convenience". I question the legality of body part swapping on cars presented as "brand new". I would never recommend doing business with Baytown Honda. |

I don't know the legallity of it all, but I would be furious as well. Contact Honda corporate. How long have you owned and how many miles on your car now?
