2010 TSX V6 vs 2008-2010 Accord V6

So i was browsing R&T magazine and saw they tested the new V6 TSX at 0-60 in 5.9 and the 1/4 mile in 14.4@99. I am pretty sure there are no major differences between the TSX and the V6 auto Accords so why is there such a difference in tested performance?

Only explanation is no VCM (our 6MT engine), since the car is barely lighter than the Accord (if at all), and same 5-sp auto tranny. Good day.

TSX has 280hp vs. 271. Not major deal but TSX gets paddle shifters that auto rev match. Paddles shift quicker that regular automatics.

No VCM and I would suppose slightly better air intake and/or exhaust flow.

Why would they make a v6 tsx? its not even necessary when you have a TLS and TL....

Makes sense to me. The TL is a different car. It's larger and cost more. Given it isnt much larger but still larger nonetheless. Acura is trying to get to tier 1 luxury and in order to do that you must offer engine and drivetrain options a la BMW/Mercedes/Lexus.

If Acura ever gets around to debuting their V8, which is the plan, every model will/should have a v8 and v6 as options with the TSX having a 4 cylinder option.

I suspect Honda did their homework and decided there was a market for a V6 TSX. Honda rarely makes the mistake of bringing to market a product that nobody wants.
