Grinding Noise at 1st Cold start...

Morning.. For the last 2 months Ive been dealing with a grinding noise on the 1st cold start of the day.. Went to the dealer and could not replicate it... Thank G-D for the audio recorder in the iphone I was able to record it.. well it turns out that is is an " actuator" issue, which apparently has a TSB already released on it.. Question, Has anyone else had this issue? 2 for the tech's on the forum, does anyone know if there are risidual issue that stem from this problem i e: parts that are dmaged by this actuator) etc.. I just want to make sure when I get the accord to the dealer that I have my ducks in a row... If anyone ( Princess) or whomever can post the TSB I would be greatly appreciative!
Tks!

J......
Thanks aeoporta I had a moment of Cerebral Flatulence! DUH!!!!!!!

Joining the club... I get this noise too and have the same concern. Will give the car for fixing it soon. Please somebody put a link to the TSB so that I can show it to the dealer. Thanks.

same here i though it wasnt a big deal but it got louder over the pass month so i took it to honda. they told me the same thing "The Actuator," and that the noise is normal on this car. "08 Lx-s" i tried to have friends at honda look up the TSB for it, but no luck. any help would be great for the accord forum. thanks

2008 Honda Accord 2.4 EXL

Loud Grinding noise at startup, only in the morning when I first start the engine. Noise does not happen on startups during the day and the engine runs fine. Just the annoynig about 2 second long scratch noise at first start in the morning.

Anyone have a fix?

CORRECTION!
The problem is with " VTC Actuator"
Your "VTEC Actuator" should be ok.

PS there is a big difference between the two actuators!

I have an 2010 Accord LX, and I have been experiencing the same noise. I took it to the dealer and they claim they can't reproduce. I then showed them the TSB and the youtube video of the noise, along side some recordings of my own that match the same exact noise, and they are saying unless they reproduce it themselves they can't replace the VTC Actuator since the TSB says it is only applicable to 08-09. :\

Anyone have any suggestion as to what I can do. They say I can leave the car there over night, problem is they don't offer loaners and I don't have any other way of getting around. Plus it doesn't make the noise every single time, so what is the point of leaving it there and run the chance of it not doing it that day.

also, forgive my innorance but does "cold start" only indicate when the weather is cold? or is it also when the engine is cold, because lately it has been above 80 here (Jersey) and the car still makes the noise.
