According to the TSB second page the dealership can repair the problem under the TSB in good faith. Give it a try. Print this out take it in see what happens.

Has anyone been able to get this done through "goodwill consideration" AFTER 3/36 warranty expiration???

unfortunately, american honda wants me to have the dealership tell them that my problem is related to this TSB... and OFCOURSE the dealership wants to charge me 100$ for their "proffesional" opinion.. even though my problem is EXACTLY as described in the symptom of this recall

Just trying to see my chances and worthiness of pursuing this..

Try a different dealer if possible I think $100 just to give you a "professional" opinion is excessive. IMO

I didn't buy it, how come there's a space between the pad and rotor for a small rock to get into. if it wasn't under warranty I'd do it myself.
Any advise? Or is it really possible that a small rock must have gotten in between rotor and pads that could cause it? Thanks in advance

But they gave me a number on my rears ~4mm~. But they didn't on the fronts whom I have tsb. Hmmmm. What to do? I'm pretty sure I'm not going back for service with them.

Sounds like they told you what they found. If it's resurfaced under warranty what about this experience makes you not want them to do your services? Just curious.

First thing the tech should did was to check the fronts and measure them before the rears. Based on the info they gave me, it seemed they just glanced on the fronts and measured the rears, since they would know that i would definitely be needing work on the rears due to the famous rear brake claims. Besides, less than 50% front pads on 12k mile brand new-bought car? I don't know. This is my first time that i bought a brand new one. I just never thought that it will be that bad. And we never drove her crazy like I drive with my Suzuki swift.
I might just have to check it myself tomorrow. Checking the part numbers on the front pads.
update:

i did change the rear pads about 2 weeks ago @ 18,500 miles and just checked the fronts today. it is definitely more than 50% left not "less than 50% i thought of BUT they NEVER ACTUALLY HONOR the service bulletin i gave them last year due to "brake noise".

i have the new brake pads for the fronts already and i was ready to install it. Theres no ridges on the rotors as what the tech have told me before and the pads and rotors are within spec (measured using digital caliper).

No v springs as per TSB
should be JB NF87P as per TSB

Is my vehicle subject to this TSB? So what do you think? i can change the pads myself but i want to go back in there and just provide this pictures plus the service bulletin to them. but im not sure if theyre going to do anything with it. i do change oil with them anyway and i would be needing it next month. i still have some brake noise for time to time but it was completely gone for 2 days after i changed my rear pads. but most definitely, for the most part, i wouldnt have them my money for services like these.

Edit: if you dont have a piston compressor or a c clamp, you can use the rods from a bearing puller, thats what im about to use on this honda...
