Immobilizer Chip Question.
I thought I make another post considering its almost entirely a different question. The question before was that I needed to find an uncut or blank blade for the TSX key fob.
Now my question is, I'm finding all these different shells with uncut or blank blades that are identical to the TSX shell and will fit it, but is the immobilizer chip need to match it? That now leads to my noobish question about the codes on the back of the key itself as well. 1) What does the FCC ID# mean, and its function as a whole? 2) What does the IC part stand for, and its function as well? 3) Reiterating, say if I buy a TL shell that will fit the TSX guts(only reason is because I need a uncut or blank blade), are the immobilizer chips the same, different, or just need to be programmed? Thanks, na1ddo

when buying a switchblade key from ebay, you need to make sure the FCC ID is the same EXACT one as the back of your key. the 09 tsx key works perfectly because it has the same FCC ID.
im assuming the FCC ID has to do with how the guts inside the key are programmed and made. the TL key will NOT work for your car. if you want a switchblade key, you can get it from magauto.com for 115 and free shipping. Part # 35113-TL0-A10 cutting is usually free at a dealership but the programming is where they get you. you can cut open your valey key and swap the immobilizer chip into the tsx key to avoid programming. http://www.driveaccord.net/forums/sh...5&postcount=30 http://www.driveaccord.net/forums/sh...45&postcount=1 you can program the keyless entry by your self http://www.handa-accessories.com/crv/KEYLESSPROG.pdf btw i wouldnt go with an ebay one, as they are usually pieces of crap IMO

Heh, I've been reading around all day, but I just noticed I've been basing my results off of a 7th gen, not an 8th gen. Plan B time... return this key and order a for sure uncut tsx key...
Thanks for the info.

I'm going to reopen this question up because I probably won't get a refund from this shady site.
Is there any other possible way to get a uncut or blank blade for the TSX switchblade? FACT- I ALREADY HAVE A CUT TSX SWITCHBLADE KEY. I AM TRYING TO replace the metal portion of the remote, not order another entire remote. Please help ;O Thanks, na1ddo
