DIY oem switch on ebay foglight harness

So since my ebay switch did not fit in my dash at all, I bought an oem switch. Little did I know that the connectors on the back were completely different! I dont know how many of you guys experienced the same problem as me, but I am here to offer a solution.

Here is the ebay harness NOT plugging in with the oem switch

It's modding time!

I looked up wiring diagrams and found the appropriate wires to connect. And also, I GOT THE DIMMING FUNCTION TO WORK. which I think is really cool!
I tapped into the illumination + and - from the sunroof and wires it in.

and here's proof the dimming works:
Full brightness:

Dim:

Since many of you probably aren't even going to try doing what I did, I'll save you guys the reading of wiring colors and diagrams. However if you are doing the same mod as me, feel free to PM me for help.

Post up a DIY with no diagrams or steps? Not really a DIY. I say write it up and put it in the DIY section.

lol not with the ebay harness. the ebay harness was made for the ebay switch, which does not dim. the only wires coming from the ebay switch were two 12V signals, ground, and fog light control.

so the only way to make my oem switch dim is to tap into the sunroof switch

alrite I'll just expand this thread then.

I used the pdf's found on this forum thanks to princess.

I used this diagram to find out what pin does what.

The ebay harness had two 12V red wires, I'm not exactly sure why...so I just left one of them taped up. As you can see in the fog light switch terminal view, there is the fog light + input, fog light control, circuit 12, circuit 11, and ground. fog light + input is just the basic 12V power source, fog light control is the button, and circuit 11 and 12 are dimming controls. Also, as you can see in the moonroof switch diagram, there are the same circuit 11 and 12 wires. splice into it and connect accordingly. On the ebay harness, its pretty straight forward. Give one of the red 12V to the fog light switch + input, and leave the other red 12v wire alone. Use the yellow fog light control wire from the ebay harness and put it on pin #2 in the switch. then the same for the ground wire. wrap everything up in electrical tape and you're good!

of course it lights up, i wanted to look exactly like OEM. but because i have the ebay harness, it functions like the ebay one where i can have it on anytime my parking lights are on(or whatever else you use for the 12v remote turn on)

in my opinion, i like it over oem because oem fogs switch off when you turn on high beams(if i remember correctly)

you only need 1 of the red wires because both of them will give 12v signals. just tape one of the other red wires off and tuck it away. your gray wire is ground and yellow wire is same as mine. IIRC, you also tuck the blue wire away too. let me know if you have any more questions

Question

Ok once you cut off those wire completely.

how do you manage to fit those wire in there correctly and stay??

and could you kindly post a picture point out which one is the 12V parking light wire?
I have a 2006 honda accord coupe ex-l.

i've been looking up all night different website tells me different wire.
I can't manage to find it.

And Just wondering, Can I connect 12V Red Wire straight to battery? or I have to find a 12V wire such as 12V parking light wire, 12V cigarette lighter wire?

Thanks!

No problem bro! You see the wire tap right, the pink thing, it has the black/red wire going through it (that's the parking lamp wire). The red wire also in the wire tap is just from my ebay fog harness.
