Honda's new DW-1 ATF

Watch for Honda's new auto trans fluid ATF DW-1, supposedly it's got better low temperature performance. I don't know much else about it just yet.

I'm trying to find out.

It's now used exclusively in 2011 models.

oooo hot news! Google shows nothing but trademark filed by Honda on January 22, 2010

http://www.trademarkia.com/atf-dw1-77918249.html

Please post more info as they come through you Fred. It would be much appreciated. I hope it's better than Z1.

Something tells me it will probably cost more than the old stuff. (The Z1 is overpriced as it is.)

Hope it's more than just better low temp performance. They need to make it last longer too.

good news, thanks for sharing, I wonder if this can be used in 08-10 Accord, and how does it compare to ATF from Mobil1, Amsoil and Redline? compatibility, etc.

Don't know. Saw a link to it on ISIS, that its only in '11 models, no mention of backward compatibility yet. Very cryptic and non descriptive message too.

For $10 a qt., I'd rather get Redline D4. It's a proven product

But definitely keep us updated, Fred.

Well said. The regular Z1 is already $7/quart, and that is if you're lucky.

That is a exceptionally good price! Too bad they are on the opposite coasts from me.

Bernardi is listing the new DW-1 for $6.05 per quart. About .50 more than the Z-1. Plus shipping of course.

I'm planning to change the tranny fluid in my 07 av6. Should I try the DW-1 or stick with the Z1?
