Installed switchback dual-color turn signals! Plus Pics!

I recently ordered LEDs for my front turn signals from Diode Dynamics. They arent just regular LEDs, but switchback with two colors. When I have my headlights or parking lights on, they are white (blueish at night) in the parking mode setting. When I use my turn signal they use the regular amber color for the signal. Even during the day they are pretty visible when the sun is out.

The LEDs add an amazing touch to the car and I love them. Obviously the way LEDs glow, and blink is much different than the OEM bulbs. The install took no more than 30 mins because I took my time. I got the resistors so prevent hyperflash and everything is working perfectly!

Thank you to Paul from Diode Dynamics for the quick service and great deal! I snapped a bunch of pics because I couldnt wait.

Link to the LEDs I bought:

That looks great. Makes me want to get a set now. Easy direct plug and play?

How exactly do you install the resistors? Do they plug in with the LED bulbs? or do you have to modify some wires somewhere else.

Looks great nonetheless, time to finish them with some low beams of the same color temp.

AznAccord, Thaiphoon,

what i did was just simply replaced the regular bulb with the LED. Since installing a LED will make your signals have hyperflash you have to get resistors. There is no wire cutting at all.

I just used a knife to splice, just shaved the rubber off the outside of the wire so a tiny bit was exposed, maybe the thickness of a nickel. There are three wires coming to the bulb. All i did was splice the resistor with the ground and splice it with the turn signal wire.

I attached a good document that makes it even more clear. The wires differ in color from the passenger side and the drivers side. So if you have any questions just post or PM me. Id be glad to help. I truly love them. They look better in real life too!

jw, where did you mount the resistor, or is it simply hanging there?

Some people mount the resistor with screws or something, I think it is probably better to do that. I ended up using a zip tie and sorta wrapping the zip tie around the wires and resistor so it isn't dangling or hanging. It is in a fixed position and wont move. It was too difficult to drill behind the light and hard enough to reach my arms in there. So it works

I must say I'm not one into the light changing scene but that's actually very cool. It seems to me that the white light might even improve your vision at night (slightly) until you turn on a blinker, then it resumes with the slight improvement after the turn. Brilliant!

looks good...but just FYI...those resistors apparently get pretty hot. a plastic ziptie isn't a good idea esp. if it's tied down to the spliced wires. over time you may experience problems. i screwed and attached my resistors onto bare metal.

Oh! Good tip, I will be sure to do that very soon. I didn't even think about the heat, but thank you!

Actually I am able to see a little bit of blue ambient light on the side of my car when driving at night, or the reflection in another car or next to a building. It really looks nice and more upscale I think too. It is nice to just have the running lights on with the parking lights while sitting in a lot waiting for someone. Or if it is getting darker out and light enough, I will just turn them on instead of my headlights. But only if it is still bright enough out because I put safety first!!
