What is the system called if you mind me asking? Particular vendor/website or just a local install shop?

Definitely try to post some recordings of when you take it in for service...

this dude's are pretty amusing in a voyeuristic manner (and makes you wonder about what happens when your vehicle is out of your hands).

I bought it from TAIWAN and install by myself(very easy). U can check this out.

http://www.car-dvr.com.tw/ as seen near the end of the SEMA video clip, but it won't be too helpful unless you can read Chinese.
