Trunk insulator? Worth the $63ish?

Hi all,

Happy new year!!

I was thinking to buy a trunk insulator! What difference does it make to the car? Does it make it a bit quieter?

I was thinking to add the insulator so that it looks better and so that when I close it, it would make a solid sound instead of what it is making right now.

To all who add a trunk insulator:
Does it worth the $60ish?

Thank you so much.

No miracle sure but it will help deaden some of the hollw sound coming from the trunk...Also when objects move around.. I would do it. You could spend it on a lot worse that won't make a damn bit of difference....Good Look.

it will dampen the sound when you close the trunk.
it will look much better to have one, than without.
but it will not eliminate the sound as you would think.
as for worth buying, i would and i did!

It is cheaper here! $50.12

here is $54.26

It's gonna cost me about $70 with shipping for the trunk insulator. Still worth it?

I know this might be a long-shot, but try looking in a scrapyard for a totaled 8th gen and get it off there. If it's not worth your time then go for it. I think the insulator gives the trunk a more finished, less cheapy look.

For $60'ish dollars, why not? If you get it and don't like it, you can most likely sell it on here. Like the others said, it gives it a better, more finished look and it'll help dampen a bit of the sound from your trunk. There are worse ways to spend $60.

i got mine and i love it, im adding dynamat today so it will be hidden thanks to this. Also the kit includes a handle so you can close the truck without touching the paint another added bonus.

Yes. Going from an 08 EX coupe with no Insulator, to 11 v6 Coupe with one I can tell you its def worth it.

That's the clencher right there! LOL! I use the open holes to close my trunk so I don't have to touch the car. Knowing it has a handle made my decision much easier.

handle

Curious about the handle...Could you post a pic or describe what it looks like and where it attaches..I find myself pushing the license plate to lift and close after initial pop..

The handle is to the right of the trunk's lock and release.

The handle is a nice add on, functional and overall the insulator make it a clean appearance.
